1. Situation. Forward operating bases at Jonestown and Matthews Ridge are in the process of being dismantled and personnel and

equipment retrograded to this location. All human remains have been evacuated from Jonestown. Final count from that location is 909 dead. The 5 additional victims evacuated from Georgetown bring this total to 914 dead.
2. Intelligence.
A. Coordination with Guyana National Police reveals that the following weapons were confiscated by them at Jonestown.
(1) 10 pistols
(2) 11 hipowered rifles (mwre to .308 cal)
(3) 3 .22 cal rifles
(4) 7 IW guage (12 gauge) shotguns

B. The number of victims and no survivors reduces the possibility of there being any number of additional survivors. The negative results of all search efforts to date all supports this conclusion.

C. Logistics.
No remaing [remaining] significant logistical problems. It has been possible to continue to place more than one human remains in one transfer case. The remaining empty transfer cases on hand will be redeployed to CONUS [continental United States].
D. Public Affairs after coordination with the American Embassy and Government of Guyana officials permission was granted to take a pristine to Jonestown this afternoon. This team was transported

to and from the Jonestown area by UH-1H helicopter.
4. Operational summary. Flight operations commenced at QQPPZ [likely 1100Z] with the launch of 2 HH-53’s. Five UH-1H’s were launched at 1130Z. MAC mission 1034-PQ departed Timehri of 251000Z Nov with 110 human re-

mains; 94 unidentified/16 identified. MAC mission 1030-08 departed Timehri at 251745Z Nov with 197 human remains; 189 identified/8 identified. The additional body count created a transfer case problem, but the response was timely and appreciative. Mission 1033-01 arrived 2000Z with 144 transfer cases and SQA1593 at 2135Z with 15 transfer cases. Mission 1030-10 arriving at 260740Z Nov will evacuate the last human remains from Guyana. Search was conducted in Jonestown vicinity by UH-1hHs utilizing bull horns. One HH-53 was down for whom retraction maintenance and was o.r. [operational ready]. at 1415Z. All aircraft are operational ready.
T. Commanders plans. Redeployment planning well underway and will commence with the return of some personnel and equipment to the Canal Zone this evening on a C-130. The first redeployment C-141 is still at this location at 260600Z Nov 78. Redeployment plan passed by separate action. Last USJTF South elements will depart Guyana on 27 Nov 78. Last bodies scheduled out of Timehyii [Timehri] on MAC msn 1PEEAPQN tail no 50268, at approximately 262335Z Nov. 78.
