On November 27, 1978, [deleted name] security, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Washington, D.C. (WDC), advised ham radio operator call letters were assigned as follows:

WB9CMT to [deleted name], Flossmore, Illinois, station location [deleted address]

WA3TVG to [deleted name], Acme, Pennsylvania, station location: on [deleted address] next to the post office.

KB4IJ to [deleted name], Est Concordia, [deleted address], St. Croix, at Christiansted, Virgin Islands 00620, station location: [deleted address]

K3DML to [deleted name and address], Potomac, Maryland.

On November 27, 1978, [deleted name], Office Manager, Congressman Ryan, WDC, advised she has no knowledge of a complete list of people who accompanied the congressman from California, and thought that the list was maintained by William Holsinger in California. Jacqueline Speier would be the only person who would be aware of the existence of a list in WDC. Speier is still hospitalized in Baltimore, Maryland, and she plans to visit Speier on Wednesday, November 29, 1978, and will determine if the list is filed in the Washington office. Speier may have had a list with her during the trip.

[deleted address], WDC, advised his managing partner, [deleted name], received a phone call on August 16, 1978, from [deleted name], a San Francisco attorney, who was retained by the People’s Temple (PT) to file an FOIA request. [deleted name] was a former law student with [deleted name] at George Washington University. [deleted name] is a ham radio operator and the expert in the firm regarding these matters. [deleted name] has had communications with Elton Adam, aka Tom, who is in charge of the SF ham radio of the PT. [deleted name] knowledge of this matter was limited to the technical aspects and possible violations of FCC regulations. He has no indication of any other possible criminal violations.

[deleted name] was contacted by telephone by PT member Terry Buford concerning some type of civil litigation, but has had no further contact with Buford.

[deleted name] believe that Senator Barry Goldwater may have been behind the PT problems with the FCC (it is noted the FCC has advised that Goldwater is a ham radio operator and they receive numerous congressional inquiries from Goldwater).

[deleted name] has been in contact with Jonestown through his ham radio for almost 1 1/2 years, and there were no indications of any problems. [deleted name] will furnish Washington Field with his logs and contacts with Albert Touchette and Paula (LNU) [last name unknown] [Adams] in Georgetown.

[deleted name] has his office at [deleted address] San Francisco, telephone [deleted].

For information of the Phoenix division, Washington Field is not in possession of any further information regarding [deleted name]. It is noted that [deleted name] was used as a ham radio patch on one occasion and may not recall or know the origin and relationship with the PT.

Chicago division. At Flossmore, Illinois. Will interview [deleted name] who has reportedly monitored transmissions of the PT.

At Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. If not already done, will interview [deleted name] who has monitored PT ham radio transmissions and complained to the FCC.

San Francisco division. At San Francisco, California. Will interview [deleted name].

San Juan division. At Est Concordia, Version Islands. Will interview [deleted name] as per Phoenix teletype to Bureau November 25, 1978.

Washington Field. At Washington, D.C. Will review all letters submitted to the FCC for information of value.

Will review letters written to the Department of State for leave information upon receipt of letter from FBI HQ to Department of State authorizing review.
