Re San Francisco telephone call 11/26/78, 1:45 a.m. EST.
SA HALE, case agent, San Francisco, telephonically advised [name withheld], extra duty clerk, Criminal Investigative Division, of the following:
[name withheld] [Pat Richartz], assistant to Attorney Charles Garry, advised HALE that she had heard a televised request for medical records in an effort to identify suicide victims airlifted to Dover, Delaware.
[Richartz] advised HALE that she knows that cult members were required to take medical documentation with them when they entered the colony in Jonestown, Guyana.
[Richartz] further advised that a dentist in Georgetown, Guyana (name unknown) provided dental care to all of the residents of Jonestown.
SA HALE advised he will submit teletype with lead requesting FBI HQ, through liaison with Department of State, Washington, D.C., to verify existence of such records, access to which could assist in identification of cult victims.
