News article in the Birmingham News, Nov. 26, 1978, indicated relatives of two deceased persons in Jonestown mass suicide reside in Birmingham. Articles states correspondences with deceased persons express happiness in Jonestown. The article gives no indication of any knowledge in possession of relatives relating to death of Congressman Ryan, mass suicide, or circumstances surrounding same.
Birmingham news media has also reported that several “ham” radio operators in the Birmingham area have talked to residents of Jonestown in the past, but no indication has been reported of any knowledge or circumstances surrounding death of Congressman
