Re Los Angeles teletype to the Bureau, San Francisco, and Sacramento, November 29, 1978, regarding interview of John Arnold Beam.

In a.m. of instant date, Beam contacted Oxnard resident agency advising he had been in telephonic contact with his sister, [name deleted], in Lodi, California. Beam indicated, because of all the deaths in the family, [name deleted] would not desire to be interviewed at this time. Beam is going to go to Lodi, California, within the next week and bring his sister to Ventura to reside with him. Beam wishes

to be present during the interview and desires that his sister be interviewed in Ventura in the near future.

Beam indicated it is not a matter of his sister not cooperating with the FBI, but circumstances dictate that the interview be postponed, and he also advised she would cooperate fully on an interview when they both returned to Ventura.

Sacramento will discontinue lead set forth to interview [name deleted] in Lodi, California. This interview will be handled by the Los Angeles division upon her presence in her brother’s residence in Ventura, California.
