Re San Francisco teletype dated December 1, 1978.
The Bureau makes the following comments regarding information set forth in referenced San Juan teletype:
1. San Juan should sutel United States addresses for Richard Mario Janaro and Claire Elain [Elaine] Janaro if known. Also future plans with regards to arrival in the United States for further interview.
2. If known, San Juan should elaborate on information furnished by Richard Janaro as to the identities of the “coordinators in Georgetown” who provided him money for the purchase

of supplies as same could possibly identify members of the inner circle or governing council of People’s Temple (PT) church who may have known of plans to assassinate Congressman Ryan or other U.S. government officials.
3. If known, San Juan should identify the location where statements Claire Janaro wrote alleging willingness to assassinate unrecalled public officials, including President of the United States, might be located. San Francisco should insure that contact with U.S. Attorney, San Francisco, is made regarding information that Mrs. Janaro signed such statements to determine if prosecution of her is warranted should these statements be located and her statement corroborated.
4. If available, someone should provide addresses for Terry Buford, Sandra Bradshaw, Jean Brown, Tom Adams, Debra Touchette, Leona Collier, described by Mrs. Janaro as close to Jim Jones. Upon receipt, or if whereabouts of above already known to San Francisco, above should be interviewed if not already done.

knowledge of PT, any plot to assassinate Congressman Ryan, or any other government officials. Suggested questions previously furnished all offices should be tendered to Carter in interview. San Juan also provide U.S. address and itinerary of Helen Swiney [Swinney] and set forth leave for an additional interview in view of the fact that her interview in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, could not be completed.
San Juan’s lead with regards to the Guyanese attorney who often helped the PT in Georgetown has been furnished to Legat Caracas for handling. Additional leads regarding Charles Touchette’s information as set forth in retel will follow in separate teletype. Armed and dangerous. Suicidal tendencies.

The above leads are based on review of San Juan teletype dated 12/1/78, indicating interview of Richard Mario Janaro , and his wife Claire Janaro, Helen Swiney, Charles Touchette and George Philip Blakey, were conducted by SJ agents on November 26-27, 1978, at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Bridgetown, Barbados. The summary teletype provides information which should be further clarified by additional investigation set forth in the above tel with additional leads regarding the interview of Charles Touchette to follow by separate teletype.
