Re San Francisco teletype to Director, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, Dec 5, 1978.
Reference teletype requested information concerning arrests of James Warren Jones, DOB May 13, 1931.
By airtel dated Nov 21, 1978, to the Director, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Sacramento furnished substantially the same information as that set forth concerning Jones’ arrest in Los Angeles in 1973. Sacramento also advised that peronnel [personnel] at CII could not furnish an identification record for Jones as file indicated action was started in 1973 or 1974 to seal Jones’ arrest

record, reason unknown.
On Dec 5, 1978, sources at CII advised that charge against Jones of lude [lewd] conduct in his Dec 13, 1973 arrest at Los Angeles was dismissed on Feb. 1, 1974. Sources also advised that on Jan. 31, 1974, the law firm of Balaban, Berman, Selan, and Stewart, 8920 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, filed a motion in Los Angeles Municipal Court requesting an order for the sealing or destruction of all records pertaining to Jones and his 1973 arrest. Sources at CII indicate that the record has not been sealed at this time. This is possibly due to the lack of the issuance of a final court order.
CII indicates no other arrests for Jones reflected in their file.
