On 12/1/78, [name and address deleted] Santa Barbara, California, confidentially advised that [name deleted] (protect) had been contacted by a personal friend of his identified only as a nationally known news correspondent. This correspondent told [name deleted] he had a confidential source in Guyana who advised him that attorney Mark Lane ordered several chests removed from the camp at Jonestown, Guyana and loaded aboard the vessell [vessel] “Albatros” [“Albatross”], U.S. documentation number 6253804, at the main seaport in Guyana.

The captain of the “Albatros”, Philip Blakey (phonetic) was instructed to transport the chests to the island of Trinidad, Virgin Islands.

Leads. Legat Caracas at Guyana. Attempts to determine if the vessell “Albatros” was at the main seaport and sailed several days before Ryan’s arrival.

At Trinidad. Attempt to determine if the “Albatros” landed there after sailing from Guyana.

WFO. At Washington D. C. Contact U.S. Coast Guard headquarters and attend all information available re vessell “Albatros”, U.S. documentation number 6253804.

Los Angeles. At Santa Barbara. Will attempt to develope [develop] further information re the information furnished to [name deleted].
