The following is amended to clarify information set forth in referenced teletype.
FBI, LA advised of threat against Mayor Tom Bradley by SC immediate tel to LA on 11/27/78. Threat against Mayor Dan Whitehurst, Fresno, CA. being investigated by Fresno PD (FPD) and FPD is providing close protective security to Whitehurst. Fresno authorities understand FBI is not investigating threats per se not providing any protection. FBI Fresno is working closely with FPD in efforts to identify anonymous caller and determine his association with Peoples Temple.

SF Div. has advised [name deleted] is not on list of known Peoples Temple members either living or deceased. For further assistance of SF, [name deleted] is described as white male, DOB: [information withheld], 5’6”, 170 lbs., black hair, brown eyes [information deleted]. He is believed to be in Fresno currently but has not been located as of yet.
On 12/2/78 [name deleted] advised that the conversation in Guyana at Jonestown in which Jones made statement to the effect “my having an atomic bomb is a tool to ensure my freedom”, was made in late 1973 or early 1974. [name deleted] sent a statement was made prior to the note which was circulated at a Plan Commission meeting in LA in 1975. [name deleted] recollection of dates is not good and he claims dates and times had no importance to Peoples Temple.
