At 4:55 P.M., December 4, 1978, attorney Charles Garry was telephonically contacted by SA [name deleted].

Garry advised that he had filed in California State Court this afternoon a petition for court decree to dissolve the People’s Temple Disciple [Disciples] of Christ Corporation.

Garry advised he was willing to turn the assets of the People’s Temple over to the state of California, however, he requested instructions from the court as to how to handle this dissolvement and dispersion of assets.

Garry further requested guidance from the court as to how to handle law suits which may be brought against the Temple

in the future, plus law suits which are currently pending against the Temple.

Garry advised he had named the Attorney General of the State of California as the person who is in charge of charitable organizations.

USA NDC [US Attorney, Northern District of California] advised of above.
