Re Bureau teletypes, Nov. 21, 1978.

On Nov. 21, 1978, [name deleted] (protect identity), [address deleted], Butler University, Indianapolis, Ind., advised that a review of the microfilm transcript (barely legible) re James W. Jones, reflects he started college as a transfer student at Butler University in 1951, and was a part-time student carrying 12 hours or less. Jones transferred from Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind., where he started in 1948. Jones graduated in 1961 from Butler University with a BS degree in secondary education, and withdrew from college in 1955 for a period of several years, reasons unknown. Jones was not active in any campus activities while in attendance at Butler University,

did not partake in athletics, club activities, or any extracurricular activities. There is no alumni involvement since 1961 and he is classified as an interactive alumnus.

On same date, an attempt was made to review records at Indiana University; however, that institution is closed for the Thanksgiving holidays.

On Nov. 22, 1978, Mrs. [name deleted] (protecting identity), birth and death records, Ind. State Board of Health, verified the birth of James Warren Jones as follows:

James Warren Jones, born May 13, 1931, at Rural Route, Lynn (Randolph Co.), Ind., The first child of James T. Jones, born in Ind., and mother Lynette E. Jones, nee Putnam, also born in Ind. This is verified on Ind. birth certificate no. 113-31-022018.

A review of the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS), Indianapolis, Ind., Police Dept. (IPD), Central Records, Marion Co., Ind., Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), and Ind. State Police (ISP), Central Records all Indianapolis, Ind., reflect no drivers license info. nor criminal arrest record info. at

any of these agencies.

Indianapolis indices containing numerous references regarding James W. Jones which are either not ident. or unable to positively ident. There are also other Indianapolis indices references re files which have been destroyed.

Indianapolis, at Bloomington, Ind., will, at the earliest possible date, content sources for review of pertinent background data and info. re James Warren Jones, who attended that institution in 1948.
