Further, indices contain no pertinent info re Leo J. Ryan. However it was noted that Ryan, along with numerous other officials, judges, etc. received a threatening letter, (October, 1977) from [name deleted], a prolific letter writer; Sacramento office of origin. The purpose of [name deleted]’s correspondence apparently was in connection with his view that he had been in justly [unjustly] charged in a drug-related arrest and the unjust incarceration of his friend [name deleted] on the drug charge. [name deleted]’s threat was in the form of shooting out the president’s

tire on his auto to draw attention to his case. [name deleted] identified himself as “world’s leading authority on the biological study of poison oak” as well as “tortured trial witness” and “gay dissident.”
