Information developed from witnesses and former People’s Temple (PT) members that Mervyn Dymally, former California Lieutenant Governor, had close association with Reverend Jones, traveled to Jonestown on at least two occasions, and may have been extorted by Jones to write letters to President and others on behalf of the church. One visitor in Guyana observed photo slide of Dymally with Jones.

Los Angeles has developed information that Dymally is currently in Sacramento. Sacramento should consider interviewing Dymally regarding his association and any information he can furnish regarding conspiratorial or illegal activities of PT noting possible corruption of public officials’ goal of PT.
