San Francisco Office has conferred with USA, San Francisco, who is in agreement that Richard McCoy, State Department employee formerly assigned to the US Embassy, Guyana, should be properly reinterviewed. McCoy reportedly had intimate knowledge concerning the PT operation in Guyana and was reportedly close to Reverend Jim Jones. Further, that on a number of occasions he reportedly alerted Jones re visitors to Guyana who might be checking on the PT. As Bureau is aware, [1/2 line deleted] by PT member Paula Adams in Guyana.

Bureau is requested to consider having Bureau official who is completely knowledgeable of this case conduct interview

with Richard McCoy. Depending upon the results of interview, consideration will be given to making formal request to State Department for subsequent appearance of McCoy before FGJ [Federal Grand Jury], San Francisco, and/or issuance of subpoena re this appearance.
