SUBJECT: PRIVACY ACT REQUESTS
1. Department received request for personal information from Rev. James W. Jones, Jr., (DPOB 5/19/32, Lynn, IN). Request post search all State Department records under the name of Rev. James W. Jones. A San Francisco law firm (Garry, Dreyfus, McTiernan, Brotsky, Herndon & Tensonen, Inc.) has made Privacy Act requests on behalf of Jones and 24 other members of the Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ church. The group has apparently established itself in Guyana to perform missionary work. Department will forward OM with names and dates and places of birth of the additional requesters.
2. If post maintaining documents on any of the subjects, request posts and copies of all such materials to PADRC with appropriate recommendations regarding their release pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. PADRC will then transmit documents to appropriate offices within the
