1. Dept contacted by [deleted name] concerning [relationship] James Edwards and [deleted information] Irene Edwards. The Edwards went to Guyana in March as part of the People’s Temple. [Deleted name] learned from a person who recently left the People’s Temple that the Edwards are being held against their will by Mr. Jones, etc.
2. Dept. understands post has previously been contacted by Mr. Edward’s family concerning this case. Post is requested to attempt to contact the Edwards’ and determine if they are being held against their will. Dept. understands next trip to Jonesboro [Jonestown] not scheduled until January, 1978. If unable to meet [deleted name] request prior to January, please provide interim report Dept. can pass [deleted name].
