1. GOVERNMENT-OWNED “GUYANA CHRONICLE” OF DECEMBER 1 REPORTED THAT A SPOKESMAN FOR THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS HAD “EXPLAINED” ON NOVEMBER 30 THAT “NO MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE’S TEMPLE WERE GRANTED GUYANES CITIZENSHIP EARLIER THIS YEAR” AS HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPORTED BY THE PRESS.

2. THE SPOKESMAN CONFIRMED THAT FIVE MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE’S TEMPLE HAD APPLIED FOR GUYANESE CITIZENSHIP, BUT “THEIR APPLICATIONS WERE UNDERE CONSIDERATION,” ACCORDING TO THE CHRONICLE.
