SUBJECT: DISPOSITION OF U.S. PASSPORTS RECOVERED FROM JONESTOWN
1. It will be appreciated if the Embassy would immediately forward the passports recovered from Jonestown to the Department, attention PPT/L.
2. In the event the passports cannot be returned, please advise the Department of their whereabouts, and when it is contemplated that the documents can be forwarded.
3. Return of the passports to the Department is critical in view of an increasing number of requests being received from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
