Section P-1 — which comprises FBI Section 96 and which is labelled in the Guyana Index as “State Department Contacts” – consists of 116 pages. It was transcribed in its entirety by Heather Shannon, to whom the editors are most grateful.

Many of the documents in this folders consist Temple memoranda of meetings between members of Peoples Temple and U.S. Embassy Consul Richard McCoy in Georgetown, Guyana. They are listed in chronological order in the first table below.

The second table comprises the remaining documents as they appear in the folder, without regard to date. The final entry is of blank pages, errant pages, and miscellaneous reverse sides of pages used in an effort to save paper. A few of these latter pages which consists of letters not found elsewhere in Temple files have been transcribed.
