Dad – am writing you a major memo on Gene Chaikin and others through this early period … Gene’s connection and close alliance with Deanna [Mertle] … his being the only one to know contents of my file cabinet that disappeared from his front porch during a PC meeting next door at his house within week after he found out about the contents … no one else knew what was in it … ENTIRE CABINET AND CONTENTS STOLEN … I had wanted it inside, but he hadn’t gotten it moved in … and more … but have not had time to get it all written. Maybe just be my paranoia but I’m not really inclined to think so on careful reflection … certainly there is a lot of circumstantial evidence… Do not know if time will permit finishing it before service since I’ve several things to do, but if not will stay up after service till it is completed. Dear Dad:
It was so sad to hear you have been through so much grief while we were in town, and about Suzanne [Jones Cartmell] – the pain must at times be almost unendurable for you. All that we here can do is to try harder to be better socialists to make up a little for all of this.
There were many irregularities that need correcting in town, and have in mind detailed reports. Could not get to these today for having to redo the purchasing records … but will get on it first thing tomorrow…
I will propose recommendations on every issue, and it will require some time to get them corrected – saw nothing that cannot be fixed at this point.
Maria [Katsaris] mentioned the Hal Jacques commentary that he would accept a Jonestown article by me … for the Enquirer … she said she had just assigned it to Dick Tropp … only thing is that Hal would have said this with particular thought in mind about me since he has known me for many years and usually printed everything I wrote for him without any changes… He knows and likes my writing style and it has the human interest flair he likes … so this should be considered in assigning this – I would be surprised if Hal did not recognize my style, or the lack of it in an article … might be okay, but might not so thought I had best advise. He studied my writings at length before ever even contacting me the first time … the last time I saw him said he had no other psychic or astrologer with my batting average and was confident in anything I wrote him… Please advise on what you think about this.
I really think you would be safe in having Hal come into Jonestown and DO AN INTERVIEW… AND take pix of the place… He is a Jewish-Christian so to speak, though doesn’t go to church … who believes in “a” God … and is liberal and basically likes the little people of the world… He has a lot of tenderness for goodness when he sees it…
Please respond on this so that I know you have read it at least… I am doing two other articles to send Hal – he gets paid something for them and I will utilize the publicity under the Hedry Taylor name, assuming you will not want the Tish Leroy – astrologer – linked with Temple at this time ?? though am not sure on that … you have not really said.
I got letter off to Horoscope Magazine into the valley publisher, both using the Hedry Taylor name, while I was in Gtown … sent with Jean Brown … am doing some other articles. Would like to bring in some money for the cause since you said it was there thru my writings of astro material … a tremendous line of it, you said … by revelation last December…

Dear Dad:
Here is a brief notation of the patterns appearing in the lunar return charts for you in this localit. Lunar charts indicate what is coming to you, in this place. It is not unalterable – and only indicates trends where people do not exercise will; charts are usually precise: this is not expected the case with you. I spell out what I feel you may want to use or may want to avoid – use, implying using to your advantage…or for the advantage of the cause which is the only approach you have, I know! On this there is no question in my mind.
Annual Solar returns (when sun returns to degree & minute of your birth degree) are the frame or confines within which the monthly lunar returns (when moon returns to degree and minute the moon was at your birth moment) operate. That is to say, the solar chart is indicator of what is likely to come in the coming year: the lunar returns time it out…usually quite accurately. You can often lessen the effects, however, just by knowing for instance when your temper or emotions might trigger more than you would want them to, etc. For instance, a mountain climber would be ill advised to attempt a climb under “fall” aspects. A diver should not dive under drowning aspects, etc. The incidents can at times be completely avoided. If this were not so, I could not bear to do the charts. The only time in Evelyn’s entire childhood when I refused to let her go on a trip was under a period where she was intensely accident prone: 3 hours after I said no, she heard the car she would-have-been-in hit a truck on a mountain curve – the girl beside whom she would have been riding ended up in St. Josephs Hospital with badly broken hip, etc., and several months hospitalization… Evelyn had no incident at that period. At the time of the crisis here, I saw a death aspect in her chart and asked Terry Buford to advise you I was worried about Evelyn. Yet none of us there knew what went on here: I see from the charts it was a CLOSER CALL than any here really realize! The foe was definitely out there! Am not sure the people here know that for a fact – but they should. Indeed Guyana’s chart was under severe affliction then, as well. I only comment on these factors to assure you that these are only indicators and trends. I do not believe in astrology past this point. “Will” can alter anything – especially tension patterns, which are almost of the same substance in my opinion.
I did not mention on the tape I did for you the crossing of the nodes… of the moon, but I see I noted it on your chart. I remember wondering if it would take Lynetta… I never predict death and I truly put it out of my mind; I did not want to remember and only today did I look at your chart to see what caused it… and saw and remembered noting it… some things I remember so well, but I had completely forgotten the notation until I opened your file to check it…
In the hope that you can utilize this and perhaps utilize a little less of your own energy… These are not predictions, only trends… and are for the Jonestown location… Georgetown will be almost the same, but other locations would have different charts and would not be read the same; obviously your “fate” as such is different in New York than in Jonestown… this is why the locational charts are so superior to what most astrologers read… If time permits, I will doLUNATION charts for Georgetown… political in nature, which will be interesting to watch and give insight to public action and the Guyana National conditions… Lunar returns would be precise, but though I have the date of our republic, I do not have the time… and this is essential for the return charts. I guessed at yours (time) because Lynetta did not recall it… and the charts work like clockwork… I incline to think you may have helped me guess…

Mars conjunct Venus in 10th opposite Pluto in 4th: No leisure is permitted in this year. For this foreground Mars always endows an excess of energy which is usually spent in rigorous work, aggressiveness and at times heavy outbursts of temper. More temper than usual. This is rough for health and inclines to toxin type problems: inflammation, colds, boils, hemorrhoids and the like. Too much of the vital reserve tends to be used up thru this period.
“Under this pattern there is likely a swift meting out of justice. And, suspense, as tense as a fictional serial chapter ending, clutches the native’s senses sometime during the period covered by the chart. This Mars-Venus also forms a grand trine which modifies the pattern; however Saturn in the 2nd or money house of the chart is a financial drain, and Neptune (the socialist planet) in house of health and labor shows where the assistance comes in to alleviate or modify the above:
The Neptune sits opposite a 12th house (hidden) Jupiter (law & courts) showing that our production is troubled. On the one hand, “this aspect conduces toward disillusionment, exploitation and cheating. The native may find that he has become the victim of a financial swindle, or has been tricked into an agreement or business deal. The influence often causes the enthusiasm to soar to sublime heights only to have the bubble of hope burst pitiably into nothingness.” PUBLISHED DEFINITION OF THIS.
The other factor in this is that Mars in this chart, the instigator of all of this pattern (see 1st paragraph above) rules the house of friends; indicating betrayal by a trusted friend, and the hidden JUSTICE DEPT. which is most obviously controlling the plays.
WHAT THE PUBLISHED WRITER DOES NOT NOTE, is that Neptune indicator of socialism, and what is to be done for the masses, responds almost if not TOTALLY to motivation. You cannot be outdone under a Neptune transit with motivation like yours – so I see this ultimately as benefic.
PLUTO IN THE FOURTH: This brings the end of some eras and the beginning of new ones… This is the planet of fusion; one era ends, but on its refuse a new one is built. Plutos effects are swift, sensation-creating and record breaking. So, records can be broken under this pattern. Inexplicable phenomena comes under this pattern. So, much will happen that cannot be explained – before or after. This is a year of FATE, per se. Tho it can be programmed somewhat.
An Angular Moon squaring the Jupiter opposition Neptune – with Moon in the 10th, Christ but this one is a whopper… Moon in 9th house of faraway places – see the Neptune in 6th of health opposition Jupiter in 12th of secrets… The manipulation is hidden – but I would get as much money out of states as soon as possible! The pattern is heavy in February but we are VERY HARD HIT IN APRIL. The Neptune opposite Jupiter stays operative for some months! In January it hits just missing house of blood children, though hits house of step children… so watch for the unexpected there… & from “friends”
YEAR “FRAMEWORK” CONTINUED…

Before going ahead…much of this year is DOMINATED by the pattern of Neptune opposition Jupiter… Like your words, these aspects operate at many different levels… NEPTUNE is the socialists planet…it is the planet of “self-undoing” it demolishes every selfish desire… drowns a person in the orgasm of their own selfishness…But when dealing with a person who IS COMMUNIST (Plutonian), past the socialist, and who has already past the pointof reaching for personal gain… you will feel the “pattern” and it will cleanse your people of much… selfishness… but it is riding also in the charts of our opponents… ultimately it will TURN ON THEM, for Neptune perverted is the most devastatingly insidious of all of the planets… It is indicator of that ever existing essence we label the holy spirit, for want of a better term for the existing structure in consciousness… but misused it is dreadful, and ALWAYS TURNS on the one who misuses it…it representing the energy pattern. So we are in for a rough ride, the lessons will greatly improve our understanding of socialism.
The other pattern in the house of hopes, wishes and dreams and friends… brings publicity, thrill and financial drain… in about that order… I think the book will sell this year, or at least be published… we will have to move with great care to get our money out of it. It is essentiall long term… and from the looks of the charts, I think it will be the first of MANY books…
Now, in looking at the monthly charts… I have checked them up to now and they hit right on…including December thus far…
They will be “more alterable” when you can see the pattern ahead without having to use energy to discern, and you can probably alter what you feel needs it before the crises arrive…I did make crises plural because it is so indicated… I wish it were not so.
The December chart –comes in December 17th at 9:58 pm local mean time… WITH MANY CHANGES-OF-PLAN & DELAYS… There are four major patterns operative within this chart…
— Moon in the chart is both mother and legal wife; can be woman who stands in that role, not usually so. MOON in house of partners is opposite Pluto in house of Finance & resources… Financially this month is not as bad as first appears. While the drain is there (So. Node in house of partnership finances); – this aspect of Moon-Pluto is a very very powerful imaging aspect; Your energies used this month will have a magnitude of about triple strength from norm…Monies do come in from some source in fairly good quantity… Insurance is also a possibility. Mother continues in-the-sights of the government enemy… Her safety is only in your protection at this time.
— Jupiter opposite Mercury… brings money thru publicity and thru the printed & spoken word, should initiate the mining IF POSSIBLE under this pattern…also.
— Mars is closing the square Uranus in this chart… but in cadent houses or background of chart…from house of secret enemies… Danger of a sneak attack…would usually be in or around initiation date of the chart –17th or week following. SECURITY SHOULD NOT GET LAX…
— IF THE PRIME MINISTER COMES IN thru this period, and chart indicates it is good probability… he will be most impressed (at this time) with our industry, cleanliness, equality – and strangely, the equality of sexes will impress him at this time – and I would let him see some of our frugality. – MARS in the house of finance is a spending pattern… and it is squaring Pluto in house of children… A crisis which calls for the native’s taking of the responsibility is in the offing… (THIS IS THE ASPECT UNDER WHICH THE ATTACK OCCURRED WITH THE KNIFE… and subsequent swift reaction financially by our adversaries…) seems to tie with your children… is expensive… someone may get killed – doesn’t look like us… They may attempt a kidnapping under this pattern and get killed in the process.

Problems with neighbors and kin… maybe trouble with wife’s kin at this time, as well. And from Kaituma & Ridge officials –

THERE IS AN AIR OF FINALITY about this chart… I am inclined to think your enemies pull out all of the stops this month. EVENTS ARE KALEIDOSCOPIC.
Swiftness and unerring directness mark this period… There is a laying of the cards on the table.
Sun in the chart is in the house of friends… hopes, wishes and dreams… and step children… and opposes Pluto (government/underworld) in the house of children; nerve jangling, dramatic scenes occur that bring lasting results. The Sun-Pluto aspect is within 1° (like in the eye of the hurricane, where you (Sun) have control… Pluto is retrograde so the situation with John “could” be concluded.
Money is spent heavily, but it seems to be coming in from someplace…
Many delays and obstacles with neighbors and kin; falls and accidents are more frequent that usual; a lot of bruising occurs; theft and lies prevail in this period…
Guyana – (March is likely to be a most difficult month for the Guyanese leadership – At the time of the Full Moon eclipse of March 24 opposite your natal Moon, they TURN TO HELP FROM A DISTANCE…

This is another period of thrill and excitement; there is breaking off of old ties, swiftly! It usually brings someone as well – a stranger enters the pattern – may be male or female, but is usually beneficial… It can be a chance meeting, a one time meeting – but as future days pass… it will be seen to have been most important: they either teach us something, give us something, or give us a “contact” with another… There is tremendous magnetism in the moment depicting the Uranian person. I have never had cause to mistrust Terri B. [Buford], yet one thing as a scene stands out repeatedly in my memory: Right after we bought the S.F. Temple, A bunch of us used to sleep in the large guest reception room (then – the law office – before five – now Ruby’s room with toilet room attached). We slept anywhere we could then Terri B. was on floor beside me Chaikin [Gene Chaikin] & I were awake & talking quietly. Someone opened the large door with a loud noise & Buford, asleep on the floor “jumped” to her feet, made not a sound, but looked with sleepy, disoriented eyes till conscious awareness came & she recalled where she was. But the way she jumped to her feet (silently & with a degree of terror in her eyes) – was a trained action – either from the circumstance of bumming around – with perhaps a bad experience thrown in – or… It is something that perhaps did not need reporting – I have always found Terry pretty principled & I like her. Perhaps this is totally unimportant – I sincerely hope so.

The Reason for the Pain of Jim Jones
To understand the magnitude of the work of Jim Jones, one has but to look comparatively at the work of the previous – and all lesser than he – masters, so-called. For none of them managed to deliver a concept to liberate earth from ITS MISERY. All prior master-teachers developed faiths that turned attention to the “self,” to escaping the wheel of rebirth and to individual achievement – the very nature of their final seclusion limiting the enlightenment to only a small number. Few magnified and perpetuated their lives to benefit earth people… For this reason, the vast masses remain today in a state of exploitation and misery – and for still far too many, in a state of dreadful hunger.
SOME FAIL TO NOTE THE LIVING MASTER TODAY because he has not lived in the seclusion of a monastery or ashram… Early in life Jim Jones recognized that socialism was the ONLY JUSTICE: that the class systems caused racism, oppression and exploitation of the masses by a few; and he realized this system should be eliminated. He recognized that the majority of the world’s babies go to bed hungry each night; that human flesh enslaved HAS FEELINGS, aches, pains and anguish… far in excess of the feelings of the insensitive oppressors and enslavers. Jim Jones saw injustice with the hardest workers being paid but a pittance for their labor and the lazy rich sitting idle.
And, though he had many powers early in life – and came in with ability to heal, and with a keen and pure motive and intuition – he did not seek the life of the contemplative or monk.
Nor did he permit himself the COMFORT of the contemplatives life –stuck off in a monastery away from people. His pure heart MOVED HIM to the core of the pain and misery: to the ghettoes of the cities of America.
The monastic master teaches “to-feel-intensely,” to endure pain and heat and cold alike – in the meditative state, that is… where the mind protects the body… But Jim Jones chose to feel intensely, and he knows and experiences the pain of all around him – having become ONE WITH CONSCIOUSNESS – & he lingers EVER in the state of unpleasant sensation.
He does not choose the toxic, lethal state of comfort. Rather, he stands ever on guard of his disciples initially, and of untold thousands globally-situated yet who are DEPENDENT on his ever-conscious state of mind attendant to their needs and emergencies. And so, he must EVER man the helm and remain intensely MINDFUL at the highest level.
In addition to this phenomenon NEVER BEFORE PERFORMED, he daily handles problems of thousands, seeing hundreds individually, sending messages as he “sees” problems to guide his faithful around the pitfalls besetting them (of their own making through selfishness or sloth for the most part).
The tenderness and pain of his mercy cannot be told – He perpetually lifts others and takes on their burdens while at the same time – building liberation into a HEAVEN ON EARTH – where all will eat, be clothed, houses and educated… where all NEEDS will be met… and all will take responsibility and where the privileged will share…
But look at the formula he follows:
He did not set cross-legged in deep meditation to gain power… he meditated for the needs of others as he rolled along on his busses, or walking down the street where he was needed in a crisis… or the like.
He gave, and gave and gave… And as miracles were performed as a result of his compassion and deep feelings, he felt and gave gratitude to the building-panacea of socialism, growing in content, form and intensity of pattern in his mind… From his deep gratitude, he became a conductor of cosmic energies… for the mind has great powers, and it can meet all emergencies if one trains, controls and fortifies it… and he developed receptive conduction for the great powers of the universe, with resistors to control the energy – and capacitors to store it… all within his human form.
His AWARENESS came in the process of caring – in the process of the selfless desire to alleviate human suffering. As he endures the pain of the transgressions of others – brought on BY their transgressions of motive and intent… he knows sensation in its most excruciating form.
He does not passively lead his flock… rather, he permits anger to EXIST that sloth and comfort never gain hold. He uses every emotion and every sense to battle the selfishness – not of himself, for he was born without it… but rather, it is the selfishness of his flock and of the world; he fights with a controlled anger – the tension creates the resistors in his mind… He pits endless energy and strength of mind in pursuit of WORLD SOCIALISM. He never permits himself the comfort of giving in to bodily fatigue or discomfort – and sleeps but very little. There is no time – he is ever at the helm. Nor is he fooled by those momentary enemies who would pull him into comfort. He takes no comfort and barely allows the necessities of life for himself.
The foolish metaphysicians are filled with theories of how he “should” use his powers… how he “should” just “heal everyone.”
But, in his great wisdom and even greater compassion – Jim sees that comfort is man’s enemy; that pain drives humankind toward liberation; and so he leads his flock through the pain of their own making – yet, if it is more than THEY can bear, he bears it… But even in his final act of compassion to another – he is limited by their own merit. They ARE on the wheel of rebirth, and if they have broken so many laws of mind and are inundated by the images of their own construction, too selfish perhaps or too weak to control their desires and vices – then he must let them bear the pain so they will learn and grow from it. THIS IS “HIS” greatest pain… for in his consciousness, his universal oneness with all life, he feels their pain in its intensity, from cause to resultant pain – and in this tender compassion, he must let them bear the pain.
The teaching of socialism, selflessness and gratitude for what socialism is bringing to earth… is what he daily holds up to nourish his flock.
“Do not be conscious of your own body, but feel the pain of others around you… do not be so concerned with your body… Fatigue is to be fought with ardor and zeal… “energy” comes from meditation on the great liberation of socialism.* The gratitude registering (in its focus on socialism…) a mind image, which is TENSION and the gratitude, purifies the motive… allowing the influx of the highest energy forms one can conduct. He teaches to fight self-love, self-deception, ignorance and sloth with right action and feeling for others pain.
The unpleasant sensations are the greatest obstacles – and to overcome these, if one feels humble and grateful for the miracle of socialism, an unflinching energy bursts forth with RESOLVE AND DRIVE that will carry the disciple through to the liberation of all humankind thru socialism.
He teaches the disciple to TRUST NOT comfort… for it lulls to passiveness and death of the goal… within the individual, killing the individual who sets in action this image within his or her own mind, the image and desire for comfort…
Jim teaches his disciples to know themselves… To be aware of cause and result in daily living; to be aware of WHY you love and hate… He teaches to resist giving-in to conditioned responses and the robot programming of emotional experience, family, childhood and psychologically buried pain… The conditioned responses that cannot meet the analysis of a just mind.
He teaches reality – hard, cruel reality: the uncomfortable truly is the norm!
When mindfulness of body and sensation are achieved and compassion is born: witness the work these are willing to do for the mass… and the pain these disciples are having is willing to endure… and the comfort they are willing to forego.
And because he realizes the need for ACTUALIZATION OF TRUTH IN THE LIFE, HE TEACHES HONEST ANALYSIS AND EXAMINATION OF SENSORY FEELINGS… that every motive and feeling might be subjected to honesty.
Recognizing the pitfalls of this age, he pulls his people FROM OUT OF THE COIL OF MATERIALISM and attachment to things – though all needs are scrupulously met for them!!
He warns of the dangers of the intellectualized concepts, for in them is danger of piling concept upon concept, and never perceiving truth because of entanglement of self within the processes of intellect… Character, motive, honesty must be achieved along with intuition, before intellect can be trusted to report its concepts… Before that time, all concepts must be scrutinized carefully.
Truth comes through sensory perception and not through mental images… though images and concepts are means of communication with the highly materialized man, and the only means of pulling him back into sensory feeling is through right living. For until mind is reached and purified it cannot disentangle itself from selfish false concepts to SEE and feel the truth.
The conceptual structure is like the bone structure of the body… but the mind is only housed there – it is not the structure or body… so the disciple is taught to avoid the pitfall of intellectual concepts beyond the bare structure that is needed for communication and understanding. Confined by its materialization and clinging, the mind is confined to rebirth until this is overcome. Jim teaches the overcoming through selflessness and socialism.
He teaches we are ALL ONE IN CONSCIOUSNESS… so there is no liberation for one until there is liberation for all… And so, we must pull humankind from intense materialization back to human values – back to sensitivity and feeling, one for another.
Jim performs his OWN work by choice. Liberation from the wheel of flesh has been achieved for him – but he chose to return and lift the misery of earth through his personal sacrifice.
Jim performs the ritual of the MASTER not in the contemplative peace of an ashram or monastery, or on a high mountain top in the himalayas… but rather – in the living, active, pain-filled world passageway.
Greater than Buddha who did achieve “personal” liberation… Greater than the Christ who left a revolutionary dream in the hearts of mankind and who planted the seeds of socialism in earth through his living and dying sacrifice… Greater than Mohammed and all of the other master-teachers… because he comes to live as SAVIOR AND LIBERATOR – to realize and materialize socialism for all humankind. Controlled through the pain of body, and experienced with the tension of mind… and the energy of the cosmos finely crystallized into an energy form that can cross only the energy network of pure motive… He has constructed the image of socialism for earth within his physical body. He applies the image, held in his physical mind-receptor of socialism–upon the incoming energy field–as tension… and through his crucible of pain (which creates the greatest tension) he is materializing or giving birth to: – socialism on earthwide.
All the while he endures the pain and stress of an over-extended compassion and love… A man of deepest sorrow in consciousness, his mind enduring and holding strong his perfected image – he persists. And, science has learned that matter is but tension applied to energy… so the miracle is real and true. The pure cosmic energies are drawn in across his conductor system, the resistors (current control) and capacitors (storage) he has built through motive and love respectively; – And the image he holds in his mind never waivers, applying its materializing tension to that intense cosmic energy. We call it the Christ consciousness – or the crystallizer of the highest purified formation in earth’s image bank.
The great mystery is that this miracle of socialism must be performed IN A BODY… There is a factor in the body that at its highest refinement point, it can CONTROL the cosmic energies… But mind, “out of a body” does not have the TENSION to effect the materialization of image… So Jim Jones could not sit out in space and meditate and make things happen – he had to come here and personally, physically liberate earth.
And so he lives, where others died… and he teaches physical work where others taught contemplative work, and so he teaches endurance of actual physical pain in physical form and the emancipation of self through losing the self in deed for others… and the reality of mind, able to face and deal with truth in every day living – teaching FEELING and INTUITION by lifting the character and purifying motive. He teaches the value of the Zero-self… and of the need to detach from possessiveness.
Yet, greatest and most humbling of the teachings is his own personal and deep gratitude for each miracle born of socialism… as he feels the pain and suffering relieved, knowing as he internalizes it within himself that he has relieved the sufferer… Born of socialism, of justice and of selfless sharing – he distributes socialism. And so he teaches the way of enlightenment is through deep, deep gratitude of socialism, and we are indeed grateful for the materialized form and the spirit concept in this mind of his that is creating socialism in our lives. And we strive therefore, rigorously… with body, mind and spirit… to achieve its manifestation of the great liberation – not for one, but for all… and in this beautiful, if painful dream… we persist to the end and its realization on earth.
A long time has passed since the 16 page letter I sent to Dennis Lorraine in February of 1973. I will not deny he has been out of my mind for at times what I had felt for him flooded my mind and almost gripped my solar plexus with momentary anguish. But I had turned my back on him for a just cause.
We were extremely close telepathically at one time and deliberately cultivated it strongly when he was in prison – I recall one time our letters crossed in the mail telling each other of an experience we had shared: I was standing at the sink doing dishes about 10:15 at night and suddenly the center at the back of the throat center began to radiate intensely and warmly and his image came so strongly into my mind I could almost see him. I sat down and wrote him and went straight out and mailed the letter. In a couple of days I heard from him, and his letter was posted the next day after the incident and he could not yet have received my letter nor did he refer to it till his next letter – and he mentioned meditating on me so strongly that he had seen me standing before my kitchen sink in my yellow dress (I had it on) doing dishes and he blew on the back of my neck trying to get my attention and I turned around but did not see him apparently (I did not). Thereafter whenever he thought on me strongly that point was extremely sensitive to it. It was quiet for years – then just the last two months it has been active again – very frequently.
It came to me as I heard the news of the Red Brigade a couple of nights ago – the modus operandi is his… surely there could not be such another mind on the planet. The whole knowledge of the monied class, the insurance, even the ship out on the ocean with the 2000 dignitaries on it… (it may be weathermen, but mixed with some of the Red Brigade perhaps). He dearly loved Italy and at one time had a large film business there along with a 30 million dollar foods industry in freeze dried foods… complimenting the huge pig works he had in Scotland. Then came the CADCO CASE (world famous theft of his company) where his partners went to jail and came out dead… and he was released to the CIA for use in solving a large counterfeit case here and to get him out of England where he stood to embarrass too many government officials who were INVOLVED. I have seen the clippings, and my former companion (prior to Dennis) who was John Barrymore Junior and who had worked with Dennis in films in Italy told me about it all… he introduced me to Dennis just months before Dennis went into Prison… which he would probably not have had to do but for double crossing the CIA at my wish. At the time I came north to Valley he had just returned from Czechoslovakia and East Germany to France where he had many friends – and I transmitted a message for one of them; a very famous communist Dennis said in his letter – to the head of MGM (with mention of the name on the phone as instructed, it took me about 30 seconds to speak directly to the man – and I gave the message after he told me what I had been told he would say… ) It was strange that as against communism as I then was, I blindly performed that deed for Dennis. However, within two months the man in Checkos. was dead – Dennis said in his letter the CIA was after him then… Anyone did that was after had no trouble getting me to befriend them… and Dennis had half convinced me, of the innate goodness of most of these iron curtain friends. He had wanted me to take my children and go with him to Cuba just before he went to prison – and because I would not, he went to prison… what a dummy I was!
The humaneness to Moro – that was like him also; likewise the dead shop painlessly, and the artful placement of the man in the vehicle right before his headquarters… That is SO THEATRICAL and so like Dennis Lorraine… ironically He thinks very much like Marx –
I recently ran into a letterhead in some old papers I thought I had long since gotten rid of – with his barrister’s address… It is likely he still retains him for his dealings in Brittain… A letter might be forwarded. I should like him to know I long since forgave the trouble he kept me in – I think he’d know from CIA contacts that I’m here with a Marxist Communist – He would never forget your name – I do not think he has long to live, for what is now happening is what he described to me his life would be like not long before his death… with bloodshed all around him and he would go down with a bullet in the back of his head… and I… would not let him finish because at the time something in me knew it was true and it struck horror in me – though I now think he will maybe come back in as one of our children… for he said he would come back to me and I would know it… Then I was of child bearing age – now I am nearly 48 so it is not feasible…this was before he went to prison, Erin was about 7 yrs old then… I recall that most of his friends were 3rd world socialists… Castro – the man who was dragged to death in the Belgium Congo… Zaire… and as I look at his chart now, I see he is clearly communist as I have
have learned to see the earmarks of the lovely Neptune if you are a socialist – and insidious in your life if you are not… when it hits.
wish you could let me write you from time to time on what I see possibilities astrological… I hit awfully damned close on these past months… and in my own chart notations, I even noted a problem with Debbie Blakey right around your birthday in connection with a child. What child I was not sure – except it was very small… I took it to be Kemo [Kimo Prokes] and was sure it was not John [John Victor Stoen]… I got it out this week… and there it was. I had named her… I did not write you for fear of upsetting you more… Ah well… I wrote it last January!
What I am writing you for now is to wonder if you would like me to dispatch a letter to Dennis… I am sure he would be living two lives still… it is his M. O… once again… he would smoothly eat with them that day, and rob them that night as they slept… the shooting in the legs and kidnappings are in keeping with the idea that he had for me to do while he was in prison moving up politically and starting a machine in America… before he went to jail–but he went in too soon…and he worried about my children… I didn’t believe it then –but maybe he was serious.
I don’t suppose I will ever see Dennis again – and it really doesn’t matter… we all live with a degree of loneliness – certainly you must be the loneliest person on this horrendous planet… your love is painful just to watch: it must be terrible to bear. What little I have known is excruciating…
I have been working a lot with Kay and Johnny – he seems to be undergoing a lot of stress, but is staying on the job well… He is a brilliant administrator. And, it is strange, at this time when Dennis is so much on my mind to be working with Johnny who is much like him and has that same knack of putting things expeditiously into action (also a cover)… Maybe it is my imagination, but I think Johnny’s tension is building unnecessarily… It was a draw, the night Ava [Cobb Jones] humiliated him publicly in front of you, the look on his face and the pain on yours… from it all… He has not said so but I think she is putting him through a great deal of petty humiliation…
Neptune is opposing her Sun almost exact right now (exact the of June 7th–9th) and unless you are acting selflessly – it can be insidious, and you incline to be merciless toward others under that aspect she is undergoing. Johnny will certainly do all right. He is coming into a mind-action cycle, with intense learning and power… and indeed he does not seem to veer, and his consideration for our cause is great – I have confidence this one will not let you down.
He has an intuitive brain according to his chart – and will grow much more brilliant now with each year as Pluto conjoins first his communist-making Neptune, and then his Mars (birth of brain and spirit into some higher range) and the latter may also pull him into actual revolutionary combat… I am guessing on that, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility of that aspect.
I should make it VERY CLEAR, JIM… THIS LAND OF GUYANA, AND JIM JONES IN PARTICULAR and this family have become my life! What little loneliness I feel. is fleeting and beings me no pain… I am happier here, with all of the work and problems than I have ever been before… As much as I am capable, I love deeply my brothers and sisters… You have given me more than I would have asked for… I have long felt that what I can do for those here that I can love, like the Agric commission, Kay [Nelson], Johnny [Brown] and the many here I work with – somehow chalks up a little toward the others I have loved and had to leave behind…that someway your love will reach out and awaken the best of them…and the others will just have to go down… Hardly a day goes by that I do not recall your loving mercy in keeping my mother free of pain (with tuberculous of bone, cancer thruout her body and diabetes)- the last three years of her life…and then, as I requested she went out quickly and painlessly before I left the states… that was the greatest act of mercy and love… and I am deeply grateful for that…though it is not so much much my gratitude as your perpetualexample that drives me on in my work…

Dear Comrade Leader:
Indeed a little paranoia must have been present or you would not have picked it up – but it was certainly not uppermost in my mind. TRULY, you cannot know just how disoriented I get when I cannot settle into my work. Sudden change never bothers me – nor do conditions of long duration. But living on a next week and maybe just keep me in the air. Am then afraid to really dig into something– though seeing the need in agriculture, I automatically respond to it, as I have.
IF I HAD MY DRUTHERS… do not think I would choose where you were not. I did not voice this because I do not know conditions in Georgetown. Personally I felt more needed here – but with the conflict of realizing the tax information is there, probably I can get some money made in there, the astro would go if presented well – AND THEY NEVER EVEN TOOK MY COLUMNS INTO THE PAPER… AND IT IS FAR TOO OLD NOW… would have to write more columns… I HAVE IN MIND a series on the U.S. Senators, which would be really tempting to the major magazines, and am one of the few who would dare such a venture (most don’t like to hang out on that kind of limb… ). Yet I am making [illegible word] money here, and we need it badly – so this bothers me.
LYNETTA’S WRITINGS BOTHER ME GREATLY. Lynetta and I were old friends from someplace the day we met – it was always that way from the first time I met her. 2 or 3 days before she passed, I took a batch of things to my cottage to lock up for her – at her request. It seemed strange to me, though I knew she had decided to go out.
She was concerned that hands did not touch her writing that would change her style, or mess with it much… You recall in S.F. I was the only one she trusted to do the re-write on the thing we published in the Sun Reporter… I had this material locked away in my crates and planned to get right on it in Georgetown where my IBN Exec type-writer is (I did not bring it out because it would not have gotten here intact…it could never take the boatride, let alone the bumpyu ride into our shangrila…
OF COURSE you want the writings – but Jim, I promised your mother, and my friend, that I would finish the book and see that it got into print… I don’t think she quite believed that it would ever happen, but I told her that regardless of what happened, I would get it together for her… I WILL NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING AGAINST YOUR WISHES on so delicate and tender issue… but if you would permit me, I will get up at 4 instead of 6 and put the 2 hours each morning on her writing – to complete at least the portion of the book that contains her writings. Certainly I don’t care about any title or authorship–but I know that I will not prostitute her intentions –and I know that few in your writing-organization had any genuine regard for her magnificent writing style…to their discredit… She KNEW THIS…and had me get the material back from Harriet [Tropp]…she was upset because Harriet some way let her know that Harriet would use “parts” of it… as needed… that was not what Lynetta [Jones, Jim Jones’ mother] had in mind…I would like to copy it for you–and work on the book in the early hours of the day, excepting when we have rally and there is no extended rest times… I still must be able to keep alert on the job…
This is my request. Without question, I will abide by your wishes… but if you can extend me this grant, I would most deeply appreciate it. What you do with it when I have completed what I feel should be done would of course be up to you – I have some background in the publishing field and could suggest – but there is no ambition connected with it… Lynetta was very dear to me, and I would like to keep my promise to her. She was very intuitive, and told Marcy [Marceline Jones] before she last left that Stephen [Stephan Jones] would be the brunt of a most serious incident… and she asked me to take the writings that they would fill the need in your life that she intended them to fill… It was her last great effort on your behalf… In the vision she had in the forest when she came down with Typhoid the year prior to your birth, her Mother appeared to her at the Egyptian River of the dead… Lynetta was to pass over it – but her mother heralded her back. She told her it was not yet time for her to come over… that there were 2 very important things she had to do…
It was right after this time that Lynetta proclaimed she was to have a son… she knew this when she came out of the fever, though she had planned to have NO CHILDREN; nor had she wanted to bring any in.
The sense of mission she felt brought about your conception and birth… that was the first of the 2 things she had to do. She did not know what the second was… yet there was an unspoken thought between us that neither ever really voiced, that the second was putting down what she could in print about your life… perhaps it was the 7 hours before the FBI… perhaps it was some other crisis she faced… yet, I felt it was the book.
Whatever you feel and want on this, I will not question, and will understand completely… yet, I felt obligated to let you know about this. The tape in the S.F. files holds the story of her experience thru typhoid – just before she conceived you. (I think I have a typed transcription here.)

Beloved Comrade:
Your pain grows increasingly difficult to witness… it seems never ending, and even as we change and grow – still we transgress. Yesterday brought to mind something I had forgotten and a recent offense. I did not want this night to pass without explaining to you what I had done and without confessing my guilt. Certainly I shall be most willing to confess publicly, but first it must be told you.
First-just before I left the states Debbie [Blakey] gave me money for clothing items I would need here and instructed me what I would need for Georgetown. It was a most hectic time to go shopping, about 2 days before I left and with so much to transfer to others, so many ends to tie… so I did all the shopping in one afternoon. I had four separate money envelopes at the time: what was left of an allowance, my clothes money, an envelope for things Evelyn [LeRoy] had written for in town – Debbie had cleared the needed items, and an envelope for a couple of items for Greg…no–am not sure exactly how many days before I left–the turmoil was so great. But I had the four envelopes and my office money about $15-20 in a leather packet Betty or I took when we had to get office supplies. At one point I spent more than I should have and put some needed items back on the shelf -but I still when figuring it later had exceeded what I should have spent but never got the exact figure. I should have taken time immediately on my return and gone to Debbie (and no fault to her-she could have been no more courteous to me; there was a time I hated her so badly she had become intolerable to me – but I cannot take that as an out because she was very reasonable in whatever she asked.) and explained the extra items –I did have some cash left with the tickets and was going to talk to her and get it all cleared away. Then everything compounded; I ended up taking a large box of folders to the airport, getting a lot of last minute things piled on me by all departments and many people, and I willingly forgot my responsibility to Debbie. I did tell her I would turn everything in to Maria and explain to her – and had good intentions of doing it. Then in Gtn I switched the larger bills into a different place and promptly actually forgot it. I slept with my briefcase and purse the first night, purse under my head and briefcase against wall behind my back and touching me. Everything was so open there. Some money did get taken. I have no idea how much, the receipts were paperclipped to the balance of the other money – I had removed the 20’s and put in my sewing kit in a packet of needles… I did not find it myself until I went to mend something out here, and immediately told and turned into Maria. But my failure to get the additional expense cleared leaves me in position of stealing. Though intent was not there, I did not act honorably Comrade. The money is very serious, but my greatest guilt is in forgetting to tell you–subconsciously and consciously I did not want to. Loveing you as leader, teacher, friend, – comrade and dad grows increasingly painful; again I must ask you to forgive my transgressions. I do not blame you if you mistrust me for this – but one day if I have naught else on this planet, I will have your trust because I shall earn it. I have disappointed you so greatly the least I can do is tell you, even knowing you will be again disappointed in me… not that I matter particularly, but it is one more straw of pain heaping on your weary shoulders.
Second: I had 6 aspirin tablets on arrival here in packets of 2 each. Ava Jones [Cobb] searched my things, and as far as I know she saw them. You later asked them to be turned in – and I withheld them. I gave two to Edith Delaney quite a while ago – I took two last week when I had a severe headache. I took one in the morning after getting out of isolation to lower the fever I was running for fear they would toss me back in isolation with all the work I had to do. I still have one left and I will get it in to Joyce tomorrow. I usually work at least 2 extra hrs each day now – and am most concerned to get everything done that is possible, and get assigned to others what I can… but if I have your permission, as soon as I complete the projections which keep getting sidetracked by emergencies – then WITH YOUR PERMISSION I will write up to you what I see I can do to make up for my transgressions, and if acceptable to you I will make restitution as I can.
Your approval of me as a person is not requisite to me, but my meriting that approval is requisite to me if that makes sense. I recall one time in San Francisco – I was tooth and toenail into a verbal war with the entire PC, nor would I budge an inch. You walked in and with dismay in your voice said, “what’s this?” and I was immediately so ashamed at being a disappointment to you that I conceded instantly every point they wanted.
And I recognize there is a “dad” factor involved – which is why I must feel I am justifying the effort you HAVE expended on my behalf: how do I enumerate–the protection you gave the three of us the 8 mizerable and long years before you pulled us to you; the accident that would have killed Evelyn and I and left Erin blinded and crippled in a hospital for life; Your forgiveness of Erin in the valley when I was away one time–you had revelation of silence and Erin screamed out as she saw something she had done to you in a past life; you told publicly what it was –she was involved in your crucifixtion, and you forgave her. She told me of it and cried when I got home–and never spoke of it again. I think you blotted it from her memory… your extreme tenderness for my mother, her last three years without pain though she had medically diagnosed cancer of the bone, with TB of the bone, in head, diabetes, feet infected that never had to be removed and then taking her out before I left the states as I had asked but never would have expected–and told you so… yet she was pain free and went out in a coma…and I saw her a few minutes my last time in LA. I remember the sun beams coming down through her hair as I watched her from the door before I entered. She did not know I was there and hadn’t heard me. I stayed and visited her about 15 minutes. Shortly after that, she was gone. I loved her very much, Jim, because with all of her faults she was a deeply human and loving person that never deserted me though all others in the family were against me over Dennis. I was wrong, and she knew it–but never turned her loving gaze from me. At that point–the last time I saw her, the cause was more important than me or the children or her–so I was steeled to leave, and lovingly I explained this to her, and that if she wanted to come here she could that you would make a way if she wanted to come. She was very tired, and when I left I knew I would never see her again, nor did I, because I did not look on her in the coffin or the grave… And there were my own healings, and so much for my children, and for all the babies and family here. I must have had some terrible experience involving small children in a past life, because when things happen like yesterday –it is as though I am reliving something terrible. So when I thank you for those babies yesterday, for the moment they were mine… how else can I explain the terror of four needless little coffins… you spared us all.
I am trying increasingly to become a communist, Jim. It is still along ways off – it is a long way between understanding and becoming; but even as I have begun to understand you, as a human instead of as a god–though recognizing the other factor of the human becoming “as” a god… still, that realization of your human-ness, brings me instantly to total willingness to do what I must do, because this is the only right thing I can see. You are the loveliest and most beautiful person I have ever seen – and I would like to become more like you. Your character has in a way, commanded and necessitated my own to come forth. You remove my excuses.
I would recommend teachings – but right now 2 weeks “from” my desk would seem counter productive.

June [Crym] reports that Betty is trying to straighten out the material in the file cabinets –which is EXACTLY WHAT I INSTRUCTED NOT TO DO… THOSE CABINETS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE CHURCH–THEY WERE TO BE CRATED AND SHIPPED RIGHT AFTER I LEFT…
AT THIS POINT I RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:
THAT SUITCASES THAT CAN BE CARRIED TOPSIDE ON THE AIRPLANE BE GATHERED, AND THAT WITH EVERY PERSON COMING WHO DOES NOT HAVE TO CARRY A BRIEFCASE TO YOU, WE SEND FILES OUT OF THERE IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER…
1.) The case that holds the apostolic material which we MUST retain for tax work–the work that Sandy [Bradshaw] and I did.
2.) All papers that are my special work sheets costing papers, tax work, ESPECIALLY ANY ANALYSIS SHEETS… THESE are most vital to me because they show our way thru tax cases – I have ways of noting things that clue me as to reasons I might have had for doing unusual things to save money on taxes. The letter from June states that Betty is busy “straightening out the files… : DUMB: Betty knew that I had deliberately messed up a lot of things and put so that agents could not easily find things. Any of my notebooks, etc., should be brought down in suitcases small enuf to fit under a seat so it does not have to underneath in the airplane. when they reach NY – everything goes under that can unless you do the crazy routine and are a very capable pusher… . you are allowed only one case topside from NY on… and of course that is where the CIA, ETC., can do their things… the baggage company is now independent of the airlines, and privately operated so most certainly they will have CIA as personnel on the cargo going to any socialist destinations…
The files I saved should not be tossed… If we cannot back up ourselves into tax issues, we may have heavy assessments placed on us, and the tax laws change – what is legal now (not to pay) – it occurs to me may become a crime to put in jail the poor.

Dear Dad:
I was troubled after passing thru the line tonight for candy. If it was just disappointment at what I last wrote you, then I can understand and am sorry to have passed so soon before you. I cannot blame you for being upset with me. You went from a friendly hello to the person in front of me, to a forced cordiality with me. Certainly I can understand it. After all, I have to live with me–and I don’t like it. With the constant picture in front of me of your character and principle, my disgust with what I have not yet conquered in self, wretched that it is, is hardly bearable. I do not like myself, yet find the task at hand of having to somehow transcend what I am in order to become what I see… if that makes sense… .
You get such small relief… I felt badly when I heard about the meat situation tonight. I was vegetarian for almost 8 years and learned well that vegetable protein is MUCH MORE HEALTHFUL than animal protein; the body also gains from the enzymes (also protein) in fruit… all of which go toward the total protein… I heard Mrs. Edwards say she had heard the disgruntling, and stepped over off the path to compliment her, Rev. and Mary R., on the fried rice: it was absolutely delicious…
Regardless of what people “think” I do believe you can take genuine satisfaction for upgrading our diet from what it was in the states, and I think when my other books get here and I can figure the “actual” protein/enzyme intake– the nutritionists will be radically surprised.
Have moved a long ways down the road on work with medical; have initiated work with insecticides; The time sheets are starting to get “all” in–Maria McCann on it; Am hoping Loretta [Cordell] will work out on minutes for Agriculture Committee – when Harold [Cordell] can start to work with me (… and I need to know when) I can get on with pressing on the point system for the various projects–I trust you got the list I sent you out of our structure: it is more complex than one imagines. Also–you got the analysis I did with the corrections on goat herd report, I gave to Maria [Katsaris] few days ago. INCIDENTALLY, HER RADIO FEEDBACK IS EXCELLENT now & SHE DESERVES AN EXTRA CANDY FOR IT…I am on the medical protection & completing for Agric. & Livestock… Am very busy right now –lest you feel I’ve been goofing off… Love

I was not in the church in the period that you were telling our people about where “this family” originated… from another star pattern out of the galaxy… however, I heard tell of it-various ones telling me the story. IT SEEMED A STRANGE PARADOXICAL POSSIBILITY that indeed this family might have been the original tribe that came here, and after so many thousands of years leaving only the faint legend to link them to their origin. Indeed, perhaps they descended from a ship or whatever by a ladder… perhaps it broke, or perhaps something just went askew and someone said it broke… but whatever our folly, we could not get back. And indeed, if this were so… it would seem likely that somewhere around here would still exist some links to that other world… not that we would do anything with it…but it seemed worth calling to your attention
I found the booklet in some old papers that were given me by Helen [Swinney] and it should possibly be placed with Theresa [Teresa King] in our GUYANESE FOLKLORE section of our library… but thought you would like to see it first.

Ancient Rome: The senate, Patricians, Early Aristocracy, Knights, Plebians and slaves…
Middle Ages: Monarchs, Titled Aristocracy, Feudal Lords, Vassals, Guild Masters (see glossary), Journeymen, Apprentices, and serfs (thus sprang forth the chartered burhers and earliest towns.)
“In almost all of these classes: again, subordinate gradations.”
“The modern bourgeois society that has sprouted from the ruins of the feudal society has NOT done away with class antagonisms. It has but established new classes, new conditions of oppression, new forms of struggle in place of the old ones.”
The epoch of the bourgeoisie (1800’s or 19th century) has simplified class antagonisms. Society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps, directly facing each other: bourgeoisie and proletariats. Under feudal industry, production was monopolized by closed guilds.
Manufacturing system took its place; the guild masters (glossary) were pushed aside by the manufacturing middle class.
Markets kept growing; steam and machinery revolutionized industrial production.
The place of the manufacturer was taken by GIANT, MODERN INDUSTRY. The Industrial middle class was replaced by INDUSTRIAL MILLIONAIRES, and leaders of whole industrial armies: the modern bourgeois.
We see, therefore, how the modern bourgeoisie is itself the product of a long course of development, of a series of revolutions in the modes of production and exchange. Each step had a corresponding political advance for that class.
An oppressed class under feudal nobility, it became an armed and self-governing association in the meeieval commune.
1 (Commune – was the name taken in France by the nascent towns even before they had conquered FROM their feudal lords and masters LOCAL self-government and political rights as the “Third Estate.”)
England is typical of ECONOMIC growth of the bourgeoisie; France is typical of the political growth of the bourgeoisie.
“The bourgeoisie has played a most revolutionary role in history. Wherever it has gotten the upper hand, it has put an END to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic, relations… It has pitilessly torn assunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his “Natural Superiors,” (as the brainwashing of the day would have it called) and has left no other bond between man and man than naked self interest, than callous “cash payment.”
420 It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless, indefeasible chartered freedoms has set up that single, unconscionable freedom – FREE TRADE.
To rephrase:

Industry no longer has national ground; old established national industries are daily being destroyed. This has brought an inter-dependence of nations.
421 “… It compels all nations, on pain of extenction, to adopt the bourgeois mode of production; it compels them to introduce what it CALLS civilization into their midst; i.e., to become bourgeois themselves. In a word, it creates a world after its own IMAGE.
“We see, then, that the means of production and of exchange which served as the foundation for the growth of the bourgeoisie were generated in feudal society.
When feudal property laws became a FETTER, they were burst asunder.
422 A similar movement goes on now: modern bourgeois society with its relations of production, of exchange and of PROPERTY, a society that has conjured up such gigantic means of production & exchange is like the SORCERER who is no longer able to control the powers of the nether world whom he has called up by his spells.

That is to say, by paving the way for the more extensive and more destructive crises, and by diminishing the MEANS whereby crises are prevented.
“The weapons with which the bourgeoisie felled feudalism to the ground are now turned against the bourgeoisie itself.

In the 1800’s the proletarians fought the enemies of the bourgeoisie – the petty bourgeoisie or REMNANTS OF THE LANDED MONARCHY, THE NON-INDUSTRIAL BOURGEOIS.
Trade unions formed to HOLD against the bourgeoisie – The REAL FRUIT of the battles lies not in the immediate result but in the ever expanding union of workers.
Every class struggle is a political struggle.
This organization of the proletarians into a class and consequently into a political party is continually being upset by the competition between the workers themselves (promoted by the bourgeoisie.)
When the bourgeoisie – embattled with aristocracy remnants on the one hand, and avenues of government on the other, engages in battle – IT IS FORCED TO TURN TO PROLETARIAT FOR HELP! It thereforemust supply the proletariat with its own elements of political and general education; in other words, it furnishes the proletariat with the weapons to fight the bourgeoisie… itself! Segments of the ruling class become dethroned by others and find themselves amid the growing proletariat and bring with them NEW means of fighting.
424 The proletariat of each country must first of all settle matters with its own bourgeoisie.
Eventually, the modern labor must sink to the level of a pauper. Pauperism begins to develop more rapidly than population and wealth.
And here, IT BECOMES EVIDENT that the bourgeoisie is no longer FIT TO BE THE RULING CLASS IN SOCIETY and to impose its conditions of existence upon society as an overriding law!
IT IS UNFIT TO RULE BECAUSE IT IS INCOMPETENT TO ASSURE AN EXISTENCE TO ITS SLAVE WITHIN HIS SLAVERY… BECAUSE IT CANNOT HELP LETTING HIM SINK INTO SUCH A STATE THAT IT HAS TO FEED HIM, INSTEAD OF BEING FED BY HIM…
425 PREMISE of bourgeoisie…
“The essential condition for the existence and sway of the bourgeois class is the formation and augmentation of capital; the condition for capital is wage labor. Wage labor rests exclusively on competition between the laborers. The advance of industry, whose involuntary promoter is the bourgeoisie, replaces the isolation of the laborers, due to competition, by their revolutionary combination, due to association. The development of modern industry, therefore, cuts from under its feet the very foundation on which the bourgeois produces and appropriates products. What the bourgeoisie, therefore, produces above all are its own grave diggers. THE FALL OF THE BOURGEOISIE – AND THE VICTORY OF THE PROLETARIAT ARE EQUALLY INEVITABLE!
TENETS OF SOCIALISM…
(tenets: principle, belief or doctrine, generally held to be true: i.e., tenets of socialism… )
(socialism: 1) any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. 2) A system of society or group living in which there is no private property – a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state. 3) A stage of society in MARXIST THEORY “TRANSITIONAL” between Capitalism and COmmunism and distinguished by UNEQUAL DISTRIBUTION AND PAY according to work done.

AIM: THE IMMEDIATE AIM OF THE COMMUNISTS IS THE SAME AS THAT OF ALL THE OTHER PROLETARIAN PARTIES – FORMATION OF THE PROLETARIAT INTO A CLASS, OVERTHROW OF BOURGEOIS SUPREMACY, CONQUEST OF POLITICAL POWER BY THE PROLETARIAT.
425 All property relations in the past have continually been subject to historical change consequent upon the change in historical conditions.
The French revolution, for example, abolished feudal property in favor of bourgeois property!
The theoretical conclusions of communism… merely express in general terms actual relations springing from an existing class struggle…
The distinguishing feature of communism is not the abolution of property generally, but the abolution of bourgeois property. Modern bourgeois private property is based on CLASS ANTAGONISMS… ON THE EXPLOITATION OF THE MANY BY THE FEW!

426 In bourgeois society the PAST dominates the present; in communist society, the present dominates the past! In bourgeois society CAPITAL is independent and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has NO INDIVIDUALITY!
And the abolition of THIS state of things is called by the bourgeois the abolition of individuality and freedom! RIGHTLY SO… THE ABOLITION OF BOURGEOIS INDIVIDUALITY, BOURGEOIS INDEPENDENCE AND BOURGEOIS FREEDOM IS UNDOUBTEDLY AIMED AT!
Some are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in our existing society private property is already done away with for 9/10ths of the population; its existence for the few is solely due to its NON-EXISTENCE in the hands of those other 9/10ths or 90%… .
426 Some reproach us therefore, with it ending to do away with a form of property, the necessary condition for whose existence is the none-existence of any property for the immense MAJORITY OF SOCIETY.
Indeed – those who refer to losing “individual” property mean loss of the property of no other person than the middle class owner of property. This person must indeeed be swept out of the way and made impossible.
Communism deprives no man of the POWER to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labor of others by means of such appropriation.
427 Bourgeois ideas are but the outgrowth of the conditions of bourgeois production and bourgeois property, just as bourgeois jurisprudence is but the WILL OF THE UPPER CLASSES made into a law for all – (and further supporting the exploitation of the proletariat.)
ABOLITION OF THE FAMILY –another communist proposal.

NO ONE SHALL EVER KNOW THE EXTENT OF MY ANTIPATHY FOR ACCOUNTING… SAVE TUNING IN TO MY CONSCIOUSNESS, DIRECTLY!!! However, my mind always applies to whatever task is at hand – and we do it to the best of our ability: my mind and I… sometimes I feel that mind is separate and apart, and actually outside of us – and that we have an internal antennae structure that is or is not able to utilize mind… so much for philosophy.
However, the apostolic accounting if “tangled” is finally about complete. I am now checking back through, I have one day of journal entries to post to the ledger the final things I did… The great tasks of completing all of the summaries and the subsidiary journals is completed… Thank you, Jim!!! It took all of my years of accounting background, and a lot of help from you to do it. In the final day I had to call on your name because I had a problem “solved” but did not know how to record it “traditionally.” –There was no precedent for what we did… After re-working my trial balance computations for a period of some three hours, I finally said: Father, you have to help me with this – I can’t figure how to write it down and be legal with it… in MOMENTS I had the solution…
This was somehow like a major composition of a musician: it all had to be played at the same time, yet each operation had to be complete within itself and distinct… yet it all had to tie together at the end, and everything balance… @#$%¢&*… We finished with over 700 names and anywhere from 5–7 items each in the summaries, monthly postings for each month backing up EACH of those items… this had to tie to the bank deposits made, to the penny… and it did. And, had to tie to the check and also cash registers… there were the sponsor funds also paid in which had to be tied in covering expenses for those who had no funds – since we had determined at the time we decided to discontinue and earlier when we decided to continue all funds in trust that all persons, members and probationers alike had to be paid for. As you recall, we set the accounts up as proprietary interests, in trust until we got the exemption – which was never forthcoming. However, we did go ahead with the rebates 12/31, and took in no more funds after that date that we did not immediately refund – either in check or cash. So for all practical purposes, we ceased operations 1/31…
The actual business we conducted was only the vending machines, but we also had to pay taxes on the income from savings which constitutes the sum listed as income on the return (which I will bring you when I come down). $280.83 State Taxes and $624.07 Federal Taxes were paid by money order, and the returns sent in.
The books and further discussion are herewith closed… I recommend it just not be discussed… (beyond a report when I get there). It is the greatest feat of my life todate… and I cannot ever tell about it… That is good for me!
IN THE EVENT that this should ever be audited, and be questioned, however – I strongly recommend that you request Frolich to represent us in the case. He INCLINES to favor his brain children – and he will feel protective of us since I followed his instructions to the “T” in the preparation and filing of the return. Truly it makes a difference to understand the connection of your evolution of the LIBERATION PROCESS for earth, since you started way back whenever…
When I studied with the former research scientist on the ICBM’s – I learned many facts of the cosmos not ordinarily known… The galactic axis of earth is at 14–16 Sagittarius… it is a highly magnetized point – and so Neptune there now… shows the intense penetration right now of space energy available to socialism… Huge strides in the next 5–7 years for us.
Page four is heavy – and some may not be entirely correct, but the thing is close I know. For the so-called metaphysical students, and ALL of occult background – this kind of presentation SHOULD make a lot of difference in their orientation to socialism. I kept wondering when you’d get around to the teachings… and in my slothful stupor of mind, I let them go right over my head. Of course I have been grateful… but I had so much MORE to appreciate than I could imagine… It is like trying and trying to focus your eyes, to no avail, and then someone hands you your glasses and everything comes into exact and sharp focus… that is how I felt the afternoon I took time to meditate upon my gratitude for the miracles we have through you/socialism…
And though I have not included it, there is a different FORM of socialism you are bringing, and this is the refinement that will carry the other nations to accept it…

Dear Jim
When I came here and found my children working in the fields, as I did when I was in my teens, working in the grape fields out in Cucamonga – (you learn how hard so many people work, and you learn a respect for the worker as well as a greater appreciation for yourself when you do it. The city would not make them strong in this way – it weakens them with too much comfort and too much concentration on self – ) I was joyed and felt good to see them taking part – and they love it. Erin is in the incentive group since she cannot take the sun for such long periods of time and the supervisors suggested this since she had nearly passed out the first few days out there and had to sit in shade at intervals – she has lifelong had trouble with heat, though she is doing much better and loves the fields. She is a very excellent worker and enjoys work. I asked her if she wanted to stay there and she said an overwhelming yes, she loves working in the ground. In younger years, I loved garden work myself so I can see why they feel good doing it. In S.F. when I suggested Erin get into office work because she has distinct talents in that area as does Evelyn, she nearly came to tears at the prospect of being stuck behind a desk, so I know they love any outdoor work.
For the strength you are putting into our youth, I deeply thank you.
Help me to learn in time all I must know, do or be. It is very confusing at times, and I proceed on in the dark. Many times I fall down and many times I get back up again. The last five months in S.F. were hell with that Apostolic Corporation. What I did they could put me away and throw away the key– but the evidence is now all destroyed, the source material, so this is no longer possible to trace– yet, best if we do not have to go through audit, though I did everything as though we would. The attorneys (Chaikin) did not get the letters they were to get; however– that area is weak, but we could get letters signed and back dated down here, though that runs into danger, since some big mouth would remember when they signed it or something… that is, however the only weak area. The figures are in balance– unbelievably! The last part I did entirely myself, so none but me could know where anything was buried… And it was so hard for me to figure where I had been even two days later that I had to call on your name to help me get it all closed out. It is well done, but totally designed to tie an auditor in knots. From sheer mental exhaustion, I think they would pass it. I was doing it and was totally exhausted mentally from it all.
My weight is still not where it should be – I fasted the 31 days as pledged – but could not continue thereafter with the tiredness it brought. Had we had fruits and veg avail to eat there – I might have, but the kitchen was straining as it was. Maxine has gained 100# since unwiring her teeth, Mary Tschetter says that Maxine is now 265. Too much pastry and starch and not enough exercise to balance it. Though temperaments are doing REMARKABLY WELL, and all are trying hard to get along and doing it pretty well. The tension is from fear of not getting it all done, having things half-packed, not being sure you are doing what you should, etc. They are not doing badly under the circumstances.
As I awakened this morning, Evelyn flashed before me. She was in severe anguish and her eyes looked pleadingly at me. Why? What should I be doing that I am not? Last time on the floor in S.F. when she was shouting something at me, my only concern was to meet her need and not disappoint her as a socialist, and not be a bad example to her. That is my concern now. Please Jim, take me or my children as needed for the cause, but please let our lives be laid down for the cause of socialism and not for some stupid failure or omission where we have not learned fast enough what we should do. I feel that a big clock is turning somewhere, and I have to meet a deadline. I don’t know what it is. Please help me to know, and help me to be the socialist I am capable of being.
I do see what you are doing here – and indeed it is a high calling; how many times have I sung the song from the depths of my heart that I sing now: Father, don’t let me fail… help me to divest myself of all but socialism.
Forgive me that pain I have caused you – I know that we unwittingly cause you pain with our lingering capitalism. Beautiful, beautiful socialist man who even fears to sleep lest the enemy approach and we are not on the job… your sacrifice is perpetual. It is seeing this that makes me hate the capitalism in me. Only fleeting thoughts have crossed my mind sexually in very many months. There has been too much “else” to be concerned over…
There is no person I am sexually attracted to save yourself, and that is not a problem to me. I long ago learned that sex is a habit forming – in mind at least. I really enjoyed it when I was participating in it 12-14 years ago… but, I walked away cold-turkey because of character of my sexual companion (Rollie) whom I hadn’t minded sharing with his ex-wife.
John Barrymore Jr., and Dennis – my two subsequent companions – were mental companions only – we had no sex – I was not really sexually attracted to either of them; Johnny was my [illegible word]; I told him so & he agreed! We left it there. Dennis was a so-called friend… As I look back at him, he was a homosexual who wouldn’t admit it & hated all women & men as he recalled his mother dying in bed beside him at age 6 – & his wealthy grandfather disowning him – yet the mind was super brilliant – I pitied him! He used me!
Coming out on the boat a sexual thought about Tim [Swinney] crossed my mind – but I questioned it: “What’s this?” I querried in my thoughts with no small amount of incredulity… I determined I wasn’t really interested at all but might be receiving a thought projection. On closer observation I saw he was mildly attracted to me – probably because when he was rude to me Swinney fashion. I thereafter ignored him deliberately as much as I could. Beyond that I’ve made a point to stay away from him totally. It has always seemed wrong to let anyone entertain any emotional fantasies over you if you weren’t interested. Certainly my appearance is no invitation & I’ve raised my children & a few more… I really have no personal interest. I visit with only a few in passing – usually when I must wait for something.
All of my life, even in midst of family, crowds of my choosing, or so-called friends – I have felt lonely. Intellectually I understand why, but it persists – One gets used to it. It is less when I am of use to people. I enjoy that. Work of any kind is usually pleasant to me for this reason. In mind, I am mate-oriented & identify strongly with the story of the Flying Dutchman.
Stewardship of things & talents bears heavy on my mind – But my desire is to some how transfer all of that so it won’t be lost to the needs of humanity, then somehow “merge” with a greater mind & cease to exist. Dear Dad: I came home last night when it seemed the decisions were made, and since I was getting up very early and saw much had to be done today – cutting superfluous to the minimum and pushing the urgent to the front… Decided to attack with a fresh mind. I figured if it was needed further you’d send for me so am sorry was not in the later meeting I heard about. However – following are some ideas that might need weighing as we make this final (THANK YOU DAD) close down from hellhole u-s-a.
1) Am very concerned if possible to save and bring here our presses… THE PAPER CAN BE A “VOICE OF FREEDOM” to many long after we are gone from their shores… Perhaps we can get it – a newspaper – sneaked into the country – the USA – or whatever… even a single sheet mailed in can be passed from person to person and copied there and TRUTH spread… WAYS TO FREEDOM TOLD… COURAGE INSPIRED…
2) Our 2 freezer units out back, were purchased for use here or on a big boat… This could be of great importance to us in transporting our foodstuffs thruout the Caribbean, so if possible, these should be dismantled, PACKED WITH CARGO, and shipped via boat right out of S. F. – we can arrange to pick up in either Venezuela, Trinidad or Panama. They are the kind of units USED ON BOATS, and are designed to ship “as is” on boats… Jack [Beam] did this deliberately in purchasing them.
3) ALL ACCOUNTING AND FILES & TAX PAPERS SHOULD LEAVE SF WITH THE FIRST OR SECOND BUS COMING, leaving the family there free to work entirely with purchasing, people and crating… LET THEM TELEPHONE FROM GTN… AND ADVISE ACCOUNTING TO JUST MAKE LIES AND STALL FOR EXTENSIONS on any problems that arise, but the the paper out of there – Anything not needed for taxes should be burned… WE CAN ALWAYS TAKE TAX PAPERS HERE TO THE U. S. EMBASSY… AT OUR DISCRETION… but anything there we know will be confiscated and used against us.
4) I don’t think we SHOULD totally forget the 2 year projected orders we have planned… Rather, we should immediately pare the NOW & URGENT from the very vital… This means setting up places and means to:
- A) Purchase from in the states – establishing a purchasing agent and we have some recommendations from people on this…
- B) Establish points to receive these orders for initial shipping consignment – coming in to a FREIGHT FORWARDING AGENT, either in VENEZUELA, PANAMA OR TRINIDAD (least favorable probably)… so that we could pick up the frt. without having it go thru customs in any port save Guyana.
- C) ESTABLISH AN OUTPOST STATION either in Venezuela or Panama from which to transact mail and international business… (Much will be short circuited coming in from the states – However, a Venezuela or Panama mailing address might well make it possible for us to receive critical mail for a longer period of time… especially mail that might have money in it.) I do not know the feasibility of an “arrangement” for banking in one country and then writing checks to another.
I do know that Panama is considered the Switzerland of this continent… so there is a lot of financial freedom. POSSIBLY, GRADUALLY, a few Social Security checks could have xx transfers made to a Panama bank for direct deposit… or to a U. S. bank with a Panama correspondent bank – using several different banks… Perhaps if done over a 3–6 mo period, we could salvage many of our checks that WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE CUT OFF with Guyana’S extreme move to the FAR FAR LEFT… and to the USSR and Cuba.
I WOULD RECOMMEND A 2 week rotational person – perhaps 3 of your most trusted inner staff could go there for 2 week intervals… dangerous to be without family contact for longer.
[Marginal typed comment] THE METHOD I THINK IS CRITICAL TO FEASIBILITY.
THE WORK DONE THERE could be SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED “EACH” TIME… without carryover. PRIORITIES BEING RE-SET EACH TIME THEY GO… some would have purchasing capabilities and others would have other capabilities… or perhaps a staff person plus one purchasing person could go each time… but no records maintained there… just each time come back and go over what is done, re-evaluate and institute immediately the instructions for the ensuing and singular 2 week period. What does not get done comes back to a central planning group for re-evaluation. This would ELIMINATE PROCRASTINATION, which would stop the danger of the FEAR OF CONFRONTATION BUILDUP that comes from a staggering workload an individual cannot handle – which in frustration, then often tends to cause even the work that “could” be done to be stopped… or curtailed greatly.
URGENT TO LEARN WHERE INTERNATIONALLY we can purchase the items we might need: this is an EDUCATION project… we need to study world trade publications and get letters off for phony distributorships, etc., just to LEARN WHAT WE CAN GET FROM WHERE in the critical areas of:
- A) Medical supplies;
- B) Equipment, mechanical, electric & electronic parts;
- C) Paper and education supplies
- D) Fabric and household items…
- E) Misc other items we can sell…
SOMEHOW, I think I should be in on this study – feel that I could be effective in helping set up this program…
6) AT THE INCEPTION point – now – of our businesses in Guyana I feel I [handwritten insertion: “and Harold & perhaps Betty McCann”] should get educated on the tax laws affecting us… perhaps work for a 6 month period for a CPA OR COMPARABLE in Gtn at some “safe” future point in time… or get the books out here (also)… MUCH IS NOT GLEANED FROM BOOKS… because the law is always partially the letter of the law and its semantic interpretation by the courts at the time… this varying from case to case as the courts rule… which usually is only known by practitioners in tax law… either attorneys or cpa’s… we might make a trade deal, they do free work for us and train one or two of our people in exchange for “x” amount of time spent working for them in their offices by our persons… Probably we could work out salary too… but even if not, if the post were politically advantageous, it would pay for itself in connections.
I keep remembering how much we would have lost on the Apostolio had we listened to our LEARNED COUNCIL… and feel that we must have more than one mind interpreting our tax law picture.
Whatever we are going to be assessed for, we need to set up our records to MINIMIZE TAXES… because under Guyanese law, communes are taxable. And, while it may have been thought it would be long before we owe taxes – am NOT CONVINCED, SINCE I AM ADVISED BY SOME THAT THEY USE INTERNATIONAL TAX METHODS AND “DISTINGUISH” PROFIT AND LOSS FROM INVESTMENT… It is our investment that is heavy… But when we start businesses with profit …like Patty and Rheavianmia are doing… – and too much has already been said about the $5000 week they did this last time… and with practically no investment or expenses there… a political enemy will start some tax-law shit… It is bound to happen and we are not well advised to be ill prepared.
7) INFESTATION OF VIRUS, BACTERIA & PESTS in our gardens… we should not forget that those in states were “CONFIDENT” we would be starving – and they might well have dropped the diseases upon us – just as they did to the pigs in Cuba… WHY WOULD THEY MISS THAT KIND OF CHANCE? The IICA may have been coming in to assess what they had done?
8) A CHURCH IN GEORGETOWN would provide an increasing power base in there, an additional source of income and a COMMUNITY STRUCTURE for our Georgetown family… which may well be increasing to increase our profits and money…
9) We should consider pushing to get more communication in here…
- A) A telephone should be put in here SOON AS POSSIBLE.
- B) We should begin pushing to get a railroad put thru to the Northwest District – soon as feasible… this would greatly expand the district and make more outlets for our industry and sales for our products. [handwritten insertion: “& easier transport of our GTN people direct here.”]
10) PLYWOOD FABRICATION – Need to immediately investigate what is needed to move ahead on this… and push it if at all feasible. SHOULD HAVE SOME OF OUR TOP MINDS VISIT A PLYWOOD MFG PLANT TO SEE FIRSTHAND what we need to know to get this started here. If the North Koreans PDR have industry – perhaps we could get technical consultation from them on our plans and the feasibility of them???
11) Need to present a SUMMARY LIST OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT that we want to buy – to the embassy representatives of East Germany, P.D.R. No Korea, and USSR etc… to see what can be gotten from them; we would be better advised to utilize their technical know-how and expertise and parts availability…
I PARTICULARLY HAVE IN MIND THE EQUIPMENT CLEVE NEEDS… There is nothing he cannot make if he has the few more items he needs… In view of coming nuclear war… this seems of critical issue.

Dear Dad: Self Analysis
I see in me a very subtle holding onto my past in small ways … clothes I saved for years to get back into … Have gotten rid of almost all of these – but will again go thru everything with more communism in my heart.
I am much more critical of others than myself – to the point at times of nitpicking. Not as bad as I used to be – but it is still there.
Must constantly watch tendency to criticize when person is absent. Am working hard on this. I also hold back criticism on Ruby and Rheaviannia [Rheaviana Beam] because they would be too hard to get along with in the cottage. I step softly with them since I have all of these crates of books and papers, and would find difficulty locating a place where I could work if they decided to push me out – which is a sort of regular threat. We had a jar of jelly in here and I didn’t report it – even had some. Saved my bread from lunch for it.
I have 3-4 tea bags left from SF which I brought in and did not turn in … have been using these sparingly on this fast. If not okay – please tell me. I have a little one-cup water heater. Rhaeviannia told me she had told you we occasionally had tea here.
Since completing the two “booklet” articles and doing the “concept” analysis on your life style in comparison to past masters … I have pushed myself much harder; realize need to carry more of the load and to expect the pain of the commitment; trying to get hours down to sleeping 1:30-5:30 … harder on this fast, but am making it for the most part. have been fasting 5 days now – doing okay. Will go off at 10 days – am starting today to “get my fruit at window” and will save till over the fast – will go on fruit couple days. Then, pledge [arrow to handwritten note in margin: “Pledge [illegible word] in moment of your greatst pain & subsequent stroke – Thank you for staying and enduring! All of us must[illegible word] guilt for this! I will thus be fasting 3-4 days a week – This is as much as I think body can stand up to – pushing it – In deepest gratitude, Tish”] to FAST alternate days EVERY-OTHER-DAY until this weight is off. Will eat 2 and fast 2 if a dinner comes along that is specially ordered for us by you … and I very much enjoy the Sunday treats … but if they come on a fast day, will save them to the next day.
‘Tis plain to see I have never structured myself severely enough. Indeed I incline to like leisure and pleasure when pressures have past. I see these lulls as periods of failure in me, and realize we have no right to ANY excess until we have achieved the victory for worldwide socialism. Yes, I’d like to get off this place (earth) – but also realize the desperate need to keep all hands at work to complete the task. [Handwritten addition: “I do love Jonestown”] – Sometimes I feel useless and very dispensable – but I realize I have to fight this as it is a subconscious desire for death and leads me towards lethargy – though I have learned to control it so it does not stop my work. Yet, I do not achieve as well in these periods.
Also I talk too much – obviously valuing my own opinion too much … I get angry as hell when you totally ignore me in discussions, and my impulse is to keep totally silent, then I realize times when you ignored me and I persisted – like in the issue of Apostolic taxes when Gene [Chaikin] wanted outside CPA’s to handle and would have cost 200-300,000$$$ – and there were other times. I don’t believe we will lose the battle – but I do believe some of us will engage in some sort of battle somewhere. It is impossible to be angry at you for more than a moment, and frankly it is usually invariably my own vanity that is involved. In times past I see (ironically noted from my chart when I recently looked at it) that I never acknowledged my tendency to select partners by their appeal to my vanity. It is easier to be objective as I grow older. If someone says I am attractive now, I look in mirror and realize they were “being kind” … but it doesn’t matter a hoot anymore. Yet am still vulnerable though more aware. The mind work I’ve done lately has helped me – and I love the garden work as well. I appreciate you so VERY MUCH MORE DEEPLY and as a result, am trying much harder.

Dear Jim:
I don’t know how important this will be, but on recollecting events this morning about TOS [Timothy Stoen], I was recalling that Grace [Stoen] and I signed on the PT payroll account.
We did a lot of changes at one point on accounts and you put me on that signatory on all accounts but Eva’s [Pugh]. This took place outside your parsonage in [Redwood] Valley in late summer time – just after someone had left, don’t recall who, but I was so touched by the trust that I push myself terribly hard through that period.
On 15 March 76 I came to LA after Jane left in Feb.… Not long after that you and Tim Stoen took an air trip to East Coast… and Mike Cartmell took a special course in Wash. on investigative techniques… On this trip or at this time Tim met someone with contacts to give “us” information from CIA files on all of our people if we could give him the names and birth dates of them all … and unfortunately, I was most efficient… I did collect them and turned them over. I recall later in SF…
In the upstairs, 3rd floor hall in SF… I encountered you en route downstairs to your apartment; I stopped you and told you why I thought Tim Stoen was “at the time” a CIA Agent… and you told me he had done something on the trip you have just returned from that assured you he was not an agent… I don’t know on retrospect if you referred to the Roseberg incident or something else because I have no recollection of a time-tied to Roseberg, though it somehow seems to have been earlier while I was still in the valley… I recall the trip to LA where I had the feeling you hadf returned to the buses during the night en route or some such…
At the time I told you I thought also that Terri Buford might be an agent and reminded you of what I had early reported of the time when she first came to the SF Temple, when one Sunday we had first gotten up and someone spoke and it awakened Terri who sprang to her feet – silent, frightened and looking about as though not knowing her whereabouts and as though she had something to hide… I understand she had come from some very peculiar circumstances – but it had seemed almost as if she was trained to silence… Who assured me I could not be more wrong on both. Thereafter I trusted Tim in spite of my reservations because you had said to. I feel terrible guilt about still holding my feelings that Terri might be an agent, though I personally like her very very much and wish I could dismiss my apprehensions which just don’t go away…
I also told you at the time you put David Wise in as LA minister that I thought both he and Don Davis were agents and at that time gave you my logic for the accusation…
After you return from that trip with Tim you had changed toward me unbelievably. You had in the Valley (at the time of recording the Cudjoe with Maritime Commission) in a PC meeting with all present including Tim Stoeninstructed me to be the new PT Secretary, “Corporate Secretary” with the term you used… I was instructed to prepare a notarized resolution which I carried with me along with the papers for the boat to the Maritime Commission in SF – where you will recall on leaving I saw a former CIA agent I recognized (head of field CIA in LA when Dennis [was] there), very tall, blonde, athletic looking man I had seen 3 times before –) and as I exited the rotating door, a man parked at the front of the bldg raised his camera and snapped my picture, and the man at the wheel probably drove off… They knew I was coming and certainly have it well recorded as I reported to you at the time. [Maxine] Swaney was the retiring secretary and you wanted her off anyway so I was the choice you made! (I was later to hear you deny ever having made the appointment… as I mention later in its proper time sequence…)
My first intense knowledge of your change of attitude toward me came when we had to change bank accounts when Grace left… Because of your previous wish that I be on “all” accounts, and not having realized your change of heart, I included my name on the list of the accounts I was already signing on… I recall your facial expression: you were obviously upset with me and thought me presumptuous apparently and you said that you had never ordered any person to be on more than one account but Eva… and at the time Maria [Katsaris] was on several I knew of… I never contradicted you on these things because I was of the opinion that you already knew the real facts that were staging as I have seen you do in so many instances when you think other than a factual presentation will better serve the cause, which is okay…

At the time you voiced your antagonism over including my names on the various accounts… etc. … indicating much distrust of me to the entire planning commission and you stated that Maria, Buford, and Carolyn [Layton] and Eva were the only ones you really trusted in money matters and the others could take it or leave it but that was your gut feeling… A physical slap in the face could not have made a deeper mark… it was very hard to work for a while, but I persisted.
Thereafter others attitudes towards me changed – Tim, and you and Gene [Chaikin] began having private meetings upstairs… I was called into one of them where you said, in what at the time I immediately concluded was a staged performance for my benefit (a pattern I had seen you do many times before for others benefit…): you said something to the effect that “no one but Eva had ever been secretary or treasurer and that all other names should be off the record and should never have been included…” I was betrayed and stripped of all trust and was torn between silence which would have resulted in your leaving me entirely off the records and set someone up for perjury charges should [the] issue ever arise … because of the notarized affidavit in Maritime office, listing me as corporate secretary and the document with police commission in SF on the SF thrift shop Bev had on Divisadero, listing me as corporate secretary originally… later put Anita in the second year… after I had been taken off… in another PC manipulation meeting.
If ever I was going to leave the church, I would have then… I was moved to silence and treason at that point – but instead, realizing it would hurt you in the cause which I knew to be real regardless of my own personal dumping… I told Chaikin the facts and he listed me as an assistant secretary in the minutes, which in my mind was still a mistake – but is at least listing me on the records. At some point thru this time it was decided I was not to be trusted and that I would steal from you – Chaikin was always making pointed statements to me that “at least Maria would not steal, though she didn’t know much and mistakes had cost the church a fortune…” If he said once he said it fifty times to the point I was positive something of this sort have been said about me… When in fact the only goof I made in money was in messing up the petty cash account where it was off a few dollars and I put my allowance in for 6 months to be sure it was triple covered [Marginal note added: “& I wrote you about it – which was perhaps a mistake –”] … I feel so badly to have goofed in this trust. Truly with my knowledge of banking, bookkeeping, etc., I could have robbed a lot from you – but for what my life was here – I have never kept money when I was making it… gave most of it away… and long since gotten over the clothes-horse days of my early youth…
I thought at the time someone must have told you lies about me and wondered at the time if the CIA had not set this up fearful that Dennis might still be in touch with me, and knowing of the US plates, numbering machine and US paper enough to make $350 billion, still hidden somewhere in California by Dennis… there to this day, probably… Circumstances alone would have necessitated their following me… and trying to discredit me… I recall when I was moved out of publications and Deanna [Mertle] was moved in, telling you then I thought she was an agent and that the CIA didn’t want me in publications because apprehension over the printing presses… You thought I was being vindictive over the loss of position… just as you did when I tried to warn you of why I hadwanted Debbie [Blakey] out of accounting… when you put her in the upstairs…
Ironically, in the publications incident, I was working 16 hours a day and was ready to take in outside business – at time, day Helen chanced by, had worked until 7 AM and was asleep and just getting up at 11:30 and letting others sleep another hour and she reported us all goofing off… I have never goofed off from my very first day at PT, and don’t stop for more than few hours even when I am sick… which is rarely… I was never allowed to explain that in the PC meeting–
I recall your tapping me on the shoulder en route to that PC where I was first mutilated and stripped of all trusts and status, and you had said outside the door before entry: “Trust me.” – and I had decided to, in spite of what I then felt. And then when [the] incident came up in SF over the checking accounts – this compounded the first situation, and to this date – my image never recovered…

But, I recovered and licked my wounds – and took up the next best thing I could do – my image became secondary… and it was hard to be effective around the disrespect this had prompted…
I recall the one meeting when Deanna later admitted having told a lot of lies on me – you were absent. AJ [Archie Ijames] had openly accused her of it, and she admitted it … that she had just rankly lied on me to get me out of her way… There was no reprisal and she got off scott free for it. That had to leave her quite confident. And she would have pulled off a lot of shit if I had not been constantly on her ass and watching her accounts.
My only reason for mentioning all of this now is that if Tim Stoen at that time came out with some “hidden” input on me causing you to think I would steal or forge checks or some such… (and believe me I am clever enough not to have to forge a check if I “wanted” to steal from you… I could have put through thousands and no one could have known because I do know how to manipulate those books!!! or I could have forged signatures and since I balanced the accounts none would ever have been able to detect it… and I am an excellent forger which I learned in my earliest law office days in a Los Angeles working for Carol Warner, Atty.) – but again, for what reason… I didn’t have to stay at PT and with my skills I can easily support myself any time and any place and am capable of living by my wits as I proved to the CIA for 8 years in spite of their war against me… certainly bearing in mind that indeed you kept me alive and my children through that time… certainly I never for a moment forget you and the total sacrifice that makes this cause possible… so while I weep inside over the mistrust, I am forced to forgive and go on because of the sacrifice I see you make daily… it no longer matters to me… I just am resolved to help where I can… when I can and accept what I’m not permitted to do…
I have never totally recuperated from the unjustified mistrust and it seemed ironic to me that I was the one entrusted with saving us from the Apostolic tax situation – in fact, I figured out that I was responsible for bringing into or saving the church between 500,000 and 750,000 dollars… at one point or another because of my efforts – so I know that my work has not been in vain and with this I know that the “recorder” in consciousness has vindicated my efforts so eventually your mind will know this is true… I don’t know at what point in time.
I don’t know the total shit stacked in your mind against me, but it has greatly reduced what I could have done for this cause organizationally, and whether or not it ever gets recognized, my efforts are an indelible part of all of the structure we have existing… [Interlinear insertion: “[illegible] two words for Bob Denton after my divorce – and”] I always wondered if Bob Denton whitelisted [blacklisted] me… He hated me because I had been his sweetheart and left him – not even for another man, but because I was having terrible nightmares [Interlinear insertion: “two people, he did things I felt were literally ‘evil’”] while I was fucking him… and I told him about it and that I had to stop… I stayed with him another 3 1/2 years but he never recuperated my leaving him… He owed me over $5000 and when [the] statute of limitations ran out for me to collect, he sued me for $1600 he said I owed him. John Frolich knew the facts and dismissed Bob as a client for this incident though Bob had been his client for over 20 years… Bob is [the] reason Dennis ended up in prison – a report he (Bob) gave Secret Service on me…
Anyway it was all a very painful period to recall… I have never been able to fight the enemy that never publicly confronted me with the charges… but apparently gave you input silently and behind my back… The wound stays open and deep because the mistrust still exists… And it long since is forgiven on my part… my own importance is very minor in the consequence of communism which must be born of this movement alone, and directly and solely attributable to you and your own sacrifice… Communism and the “mystery” of the magnificent Neptune that somehow guides it along its course is not something that history can block… I am sure it is as inevitable as the sun staying on its course… and I want desperately to do every possible thing to speed it along, and lift the burdens of this weary and pain ridden planet so that we can all get off of here the sooner…

In spite of much personal frustration, I am happier here than I can ever remember being in all of my entire life… and I can say that with deep conviction and most sincerely. My only real grief here is the pain you endure which I feel dietary correction would greatly reduce – but because I am not medically licensed my learning in this regard is given no credence, so I give a little input here and there when I can interject it without too much rejection resulting.
I thank you most deeply and sincerely for Jonestown and for the – personal satisfactions you have allowed me… all tied in such mystery that I can never understand it all… I feel guilt for my feelings, and I worry and wonder at what is right, – that what should and should not be… but in spite of all of this the deep satisfaction of our life here is completely worth it all, and I love Jonestown, and what we have here as a family – and it makes up for everything and for every tear that has ever streaked my face, Jim: this is worth a lifetime and if we all die tomorrow, we have had more than any people ever to inhabit the earth – and it is all because of you, Jim… and I thank you for it.

I don’t think we will abandon Jonestown – though some may go to Russia for one reason or another and I am very excited about learning the language – and if we do go, will be fine as long as we can remain a family which is very important to me… and as long as you are with us, and not restricted from doing your world work which I feel is yet to come… and which I deeply hope to be a part of … I looked at your pain last night, you were so very ill… I don’t know what to do about it but feel terrible guilt every time I see you in pain: there has to be something we all can do to alleviate this terrible burden that is upon you. After [Joe] Mazor and Gary [Charles Garry] left…
We went over the affidavits with Gary this morning and then I walked next door to talk to Mazor, to drop on him the “factor” of having heard from someone in the Home Affairs Ministry that they needed more funding for their border security and that it would be helpful to them to have some documented incidents…
He said that he could easily do that, then I saw he was reflecting on the “means” of doing it – “Well, I will have to see what I can do…” he said. He said he is an touchy spot with the Embassy on this, but thinks he can broach them on what he can release to us unofficially, and then we can pass it on the same way – carefully and to the right people… He will see what he can do when he gets back to Gtn.
Said he’d return in about 90 days and go over things with me… and he was sure I would be in a position to see more as I went back through the records… and of course he is correct on that… I will see a lot more… My records are very complete but don’t know how I will find them unless I somehow am granted some space… Possibly with some of the incoming lumber in next couple of months they could build another cottage out here and let accounting take it over “temporarily“… We have literallythousands of files to set up to find this stuff…
To keep the CIA or anyone else from going through my records [Inserted note: “none of it is ‘together’”] with any possible comprehension, I personally took all of my records OUT OF THE FILE FOLDERS and put each folder of stuff in opaque plastic bags without labels… So first the stuff must be put in blank folders and labeled, then sorted by department and category – because I deliberately mixed up the folders before I started filling the plastic bags… and I alone could sort out the mess. While it lay the responsibility on me alone to put it back together I figured that if something happened to me the temple would be better off if they just claimed the record were all lost in transit rather than chance someone’s trying to explain them that might tell the wrong shred of truth at the wrong time… There is one large crate of stuff [Marginal addition: “a full shipping crate”], a huge trunk and maybe 6 duffel bags of files and records to be gone through and put back into folders… this was about 10 file cabinets full of stuff in SF. The job of putting it back together is at least one month working with one other person as I instruct them what to do, folder by folder… So “if” we wanted to reconstruct, I can very likely do it… but will try later to carefully assess for you the pros and cons of this… I think we will have to do it at least to know what we can find to see if it can be used without endangering our own selves…
Sandy worked with me stateside on Apostolic, and the advantage of working with her on it was that she never really knew enough bookkeeping to know what she was doing, and I never explained the why’s of anything to her so she’d have a hard time testifying as to just what was done… certainly I totally phonied the records – but used actual figures and in all instances tied into the bank deposits and checks and cash paid out… month by month… gradually wiping out every damned cent down to a couple of hundred in net tax we owed… Fortunately I started to brag on that to Debbie [Blakey] and must have been your mind that stopped me because I shut my mouth and realized I just should not chance telling any person, and so I never even really told Sandy… she knew a little… Maria I think I told the most… but if you put evidence against Maria [Katsaris] in front of my face, I’d call it a forgery – you’d not convince me against her… Maria is one of the people here I am deeply fond of: she’s a lovely, human person. I trust Carolyn [Layton] but have some problems

getting along with her at times. Certainly Maria and I have had problems, but I would probably forgive her anything… I recognize that as probably not good – as a socialist, but I’m aware of it.
Joe Mazor seemed to be doing it whitewash job on the CIA IMAGE and the US image with us…
After they left … and I should say when they left, it had begun raining again, and I’d forgotten in my morning stupor to bring with me my usual piece of plastic I carry… Gene [Chaikin] said he was going to wait till the rain stopped since he didn’t have a raincoat either… so I waited with him… for about 10-15 minutes (then it began occurring to me that it did not look well for his new companion, and undoubtedly she might hear of it and cause her to wonder… I don’t really think she’d worry about me, but I’m not sure of that, either… so just thought rain or no I’d better get back to my cottage right away. So many incline to jealousy and it is such a damnably painful thing for all – it was thoughtless to have stayed there to start with and I was immediately sorry when it occurred to me… Gene and I have spent too many hours alone working together, and fighting with each other – and we hedge constantly, and [I] am sure he mistrusts me as intensely as I mistrust him; and am further sure he has to hate my guts at some level since I have nailed him so hard and so many times… Certainly there is an aspect of me that hates him vigorously on one level, while I enjoy his mind at another – yet completely mistrust him. MIND IS A PHENOMENON… tt is a lonely jungle… beautiful, dangerous and you never really know what you are encountering when two minds chance to meet along life’s way until you explore and test out the minds for human qualities so often lacking.
Anyway, Gene mentioned almost immediately that Mazor had implied that we were definitely infiltrated – I did not start this issue, he began the discussion after turning on the music tape on the player…
“But what could the infiltrator do… inform on us?” he said. We discussed the affidavits briefly and I told him to change the language… no reason for me to have to be involved with “his” job on that… he agreed. Gary wants more formal legal jargon in it, more non-essential thats and therefores and wherefores … and bullshit … so let Chaikin do that, I can but don’t inclined to bother, and told him so – he agreed.
And he was summarizing “me” at some point, I don’t recall how he wove it in – and said (as he was writing at the top of my affidavit) my age, and as he was quoting my various talents and professions he jested and added “astrologer and possible former agent…” and kept on talking knowing full well I’d never miss what he was saying – we read each other very clearly and always catch each other’s puns… Which clued me as to the groundwork that might have been laid against me in the past … and the reason for using the other ploy I mentioned in the memos of yesterday… His great weakness is that he so greatly overestimates his own intelligence… am sure it is one of mine also… a weakness, that is… but I don’t think I usually think I am smarter than everyone else – in some areas, yes… but in others I know I am not… I don’t think the thought ever occurs to Gene that he has areas where he is not smarter than others around him.

Yet, I noticed that some people get sick all the time… or at certain times – and I don’t think they can cross your mind without getting sick… and I do watch those that go down. I know of my own knowledge that the only times I get sick are in periods of inner rebellion… as long as I keep my head in constructive relation to you – I overcome all obstacles and my health is excellent… thanks obviously to you… However, I don’t conclude that all ill health and rebellion are due to treason or being an agent – rather, more inclined to feel they are unable to handle the stress of the structure for one or another reason; that is usually my problem when I am having problems.

That Mazor is obviously covering the CIA IMAGE here in Guyana; that he and Stoen “both” are soldiers of fortune… and have some things in common…
I know from Dennis that there are certain traits necessary for a successful agent: 1) that they are usually always atheistic, if any good – because in fact they can have no morals … if any good as an “agent,” that is…
2) They are dangerous to the limit of their “ethics,” and to the extent of their “humane” qualities… if the latter, they are likely to be stricken by conscience and turn on the government [Marginal note addition: “so become the fall guys –”]
3) They are all poorly paid – but have many contacts that open big money deals to them… they all rip off and whitemail [blackmail] their contacts… This keeps them in the position of going to jail for any one of a thousand offenses… and it is always kept hanging over their heads… From the start, the CIA has “something on them…” or frames them in some way… thereafter it is like the prostitute: it has been determined what they are and it then becomes a matter of dickering for price… For while a whore is a sexual prostitute, the “agent” is a human prostitute – prostituting their ethics and human dignity… and ideals. The government sent in 8 CIA agents on me as astrological clients during time Dennis was in prison, and he told me that I had pegged every one of them and it had astounded them… That is not hard to do if they come to me for a reading… I recall the hair stood up on the arms of one of them when I said to him bluntly as I looked up at him from the chart and back down to it where I saw the hair literally go upright on his arms… “Hmm…” I said… “I see you’re another CIA agent… you’ve been in two years, they blackmailed you, and in another two years they’ll kill you…” He admitted to being a killer for them when I told him he was… He had been the boyfriend of one of my clients of long standing before I had never met Dennis… so it would not have been likely for me to suspect him… But there was something about him that felt so evil that my own body actually physically reacted as he came through my door… I would never read for him again. His paid job was salesman for a car agency down on Wilshire Boulevard and many large sales and commissions were “arranged” for him… He was given names of people he was to kill, and he would find them and kill them… Dennis later told me that they had been shaken with that one. Dennis had friends that told him what went on with me – not all of the agents “like” the government, but are all whitemailed so must do the bidding “apparently…”
4) The point to all of this, and the conclusion I would make being that the stealing by Stoen would be incidental… that even the stock deals could be arranged for him to make his profits…

I don’t think he was knowledgeable enough to make his own investments: I did not find that he was terribly knowledgeable on the market… it would be more likely that he would invest in sure things… and I think Mazor’s suggestion of the South American investment in Venezuela might be very logical…
You will recall that when Carolyn ended up in jail, it was Stoen that had engineered the idea to send to her… You said on returning, you had been away and came late into the PC meeting in lower room of the SF Temple before it was reconstructed… It was very soon after we had gotten the Temple… “whose idea was this… I would have never made this selection or had her go this way…” and Tim spoke up and said it was his idea… and Later, your intuition proved correct… for she was incarcerated before she returned.
My personal conclusion is that Stoen was, and is an agent… and that he is the logical and expendable one… that there is a “logical” pattern of theft that can be pointed to… just as they used the trail-of-crime of [Lee Harvey] Oswald and the others set up in the Parallax View … for the fall guy…
So, if they have a fall guy set up – what are they planning to cover units
It is their modus operandi to set up a cover for their greater crimes…
The agent(s) in here might will be harmless … but if not convinced of your paranormal qualities… and to save their own ass or to escape if they feel our structure is too heavy and they are in fact capitalistic instead of socialistic… then I would be concerned for an attempted kidnapping and assassination…
Am not convinced that even Mazor would necessarily know he is being used… because “con artists” are just as easily conned… for every good one, a better one comes along to become their Waterloo…
Mazor’s conclusion of the “number” of Amerindians and projected numbers up to 16,000 from surrounding areas – that he threw out, and our non-rejection of his statement causing him to conclude, as he stated, that he was right… his own Achilles’ heel showing there because he bragged to us of his having just “wanted confirmation” of what he suspected… I think we should have played more heavily to his ego… though perhaps that was done… I know you usually do that to an incredible degree with all the idiots that come in here and who obviously grossly underestimate you…
So, seeing Stoen being set up as fall guy… I am more concerned than ever about the agent that is in here… for If the person is in fact without conscience or fear of the “beyond…” then that person will respond to the threat used on them at the time it is demanded they do it… nor would they necessarily know… Mazor said it. They could just walk down the road, meet someone from the bush and tell them or be told something and go back to their work, and no one would ever know… until they carried out their instruction… nor would they necessarily have to know if there were two of them in here… it would even be wise to give each instructions that could look relatively harmless, but combined could be deadly or a “part” of a major plan to either kill and/or kidnap… by yet a third party or a group brought in at some hour of the night externally… through a security network they could even construct… for us… with equipment they could shut on and off with her own electronic control devices!!! How ingenious they could plan it… Nor would the fool-agent have to know they were the one pulling the trigger until too late… the trigger not necessarily being literal…
