An individual who identified himself as [name deleted] [Lowery] was contacted by a Special Agent (SA) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and provided the following information.

[Lowery] advised that he is a surgeon at Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, New York (NY), and formerly resided in California. [name deleted] stated that his only knowledge of the People’s Temple (PT) was that his mother, Ruth Lowery was a member of the PT commune at Jonestown, Guyana, and has been confirmed dead. He advised that letters he received from his mother did not indicate any type of trouble at Jonestown.

[Lowery] stated that he visited Jonestown on November 21, or 22, 1978, and appeared on television in the United States (US). He advised that he offered whatever help he may be capable of giving to families of victims of the Jonestown tragedy. Lowery advised he has no knowledge of PT activities here in the US.
