On January 2, 1979, the office of Senator Goldwater was advised of the contents of referenced San Francisco teletype.

Reference Bureau teletype advised Washington Field to furnish the location (if known) of Charles Krause to the San Francisco Division. References made to Washington Field teletypes to Bureau in San Francisco dated December 4, 1978, and December 14, 1978.

Krause was last known to be in Guyana and his current location is unknown to Washington Field. Stops have been left with the foreign desk of the Washington Post.

It is evident to Washington Field that Krause is evading interview by Washington Field, especially in view of the telephone call from the legal counsel of the Post expressing his concern for confidentiality of the press.

Washington Field has placed [deleted word] INS stops with Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Washington, DC, on December 29, 1978, and January 2, 1979, regarding the list of 20 names furnished in Bureau teletype to San Francisco and Washington Field dated December 26, 1978. Copy of each FD-315 sent to San Francisco Division. San Francisco should ensure stop removed when no longer needed.
