On April 6, 1979, a confidential source abroad provided the following information:
On June 13, 1978, account number 01-58115-5 rpt 01-58115-5 was opened at Banco Union, Caracas, Venezuela, by Maria Kisaris (sic) [Katsaris], Box 893, Georgetown, Guyana, with Deborah Touchette also authorized to sign. This account has an initial deposit of $85,745.00 which source assumes is US dollars but could possibly be Guyanese dollars. There has been no further transaction and the balance remains the same.

It is to be noted that the American Embassy at Caracas, by means of a diplomatic note, has requested the Venezuelan government to immobilize People’s Temple assets in Venezuela. As yet no notification has been received via diplomatic channels of the existence of this account.
