Re Detroit teletype to the Bureau, 1/31/79.

On 4/16/79, Sgt. [name deleted], Squad 3, Detroit, Michigan Police Department, Homicide Unit, was recontacted regarding the murder of Dennis Hicks. He advised that extensive investigation by his department regarding Hicks’s homicide revealed no indication that the People’s Temple was involved.

[Name deleted] reiterated that he believed the homicide to be a result of a “love triangle” involving [names deleted]. [Name deleted] is well known to Detroit narcotics homicide investigators as well as Detroit FBI Agents for her involvement in narcotics, narcotics related murders, and unlawful flight murder fugitives.

In view of the above, Detroit conducting no further investigation, UACB [Unless Advised to the Contrary by the Bureau].
