QM [1.] George Jackman, Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, called Consul afternoon of April 13 to advise that the defense attorney, Tony Tamburello, has visited his office. Mr. Tamburello wanted copies of statements made by the following individuals:
[Editor’s note: Names of 22 witnesses deleted, on balance of page 1, entirety of page 2, and part of page 3. The name of Richard Clark was released on the duplicate of this serial at Serial 2612]
2. Mr. Jackman informed Mr. Tamburello that he should obtain the statements from the Justice Department in the United States. Mr. Tamburello stated that he had asked for these statements but was told that Justice did not have them.
3. Mr. Jackman is not sure his office has statements for all individuals listed in Paragraph One. He has no objection to providing them, but believes he should have some direction from Justice. If Justice wishes to provide these statements, he would then turn them over to the Embassy and the Embassy could either forward them to Justice to give to the defense, or, if defense attorneys are still in town Embassy could give them to Mr. Tamburello.
4. Action requested: Please provide instructions for Mr. Jackman so that he may know what action to take regarding statements by any individual listed in Paragraph One.
