PEOPLES TEMPLE AGRICULTURAL PROJECT
3rd March, 1978

The Hon. Forbes Burnham
Prime Minister
Public Buildings, Brickdam
Georgetown

Dear Prime Minister Burnham;

We are most interested in any suggestion you have so that we can be of service to our country, Guyana. Our goal is to integrate ourselves and of course to be as productive as possible. We owe a great debt to Guyana for allowing us to be part of a country with a great destiny, and also for the many acts of kindness and help that have come from all levels.

Without the assistance of the government in terms of all aspects of our program, we would not have been able to develop our cooperative program. We believe totally in self-criticism and group criticism to help us to grow so if there are any suggestions, please let us know how we can improve. We may make mistakes as people who are learning a new way of living, but we certainly want to improve.

We would also like to be of increased service to the surrounding communities. We have heard that the Port Kaituma School could use some repair work on the desks and chairs in the classrooms. We would like to volunteer our services to repair these as a self-help project if that would be appropriate.

We also want to thank you for the opportunity to hear you speak at the flag-raising ceremony. It is a great honor to be in a country and have as our leader a courageous and wise socialist. Thank you again.

Cooperatively yours,

/s/Sharon Amos
