(Prokes talked to him and I listened)
-Wills commended us for our radio show a couple of days ago/ he said Prokes introduced Marcelline [Marceline Jones] and it was a good interview
-he said that Jennifer Small (radio Antilles) is out galavanting with Carey Parker around the Caribbean/ he is the man who tried to bribe the cricket team (not Cabinet but the actual cricket team) to take more money or ask for more money (anyway he said we ought to watch it with the Smalls, Pat Small was the one that sent us the invitation to come to the program with the No. Koreans)
-regarding Stanley Moore (attorney and broadcaster who is a friend of Rex McCabe [McKay], who is a friend of Bunny Mann’s [Laurence “Bunny” Mann]), he said that Stanley went and talked to Judge [Aubrey] Bishop, which he had asked Stanley to do (Wills asked him when we were there at Wills’ house and Stanley Moore was visiting) but Stanley goofed it up by saying to Bishop “Wills asked me to ask you about the
the PT case” and Bishop clammed up and changed the subject, Wills said the situation became delicate
REGARDING OUR INVESTIGATION
-Wills checked it out, it is an intra party thing/ the people doing it are not connectedwith “upstairs”
-Hoyt might be involved but Wills doesn’t know
-Wills will check on it further
-it is a party thing but is not sanctioned as so by the party
-he said not to let any of these people (PM’s guards) to get entry to the house
-Dr. [Ptolemy] Reid doesn’t know about it
-he talked to (Wills did) Dr. Reid last night and night and knows how he’s operating
and he couldn’t go in that direction
-Wills said to seehim tomorrow
Wills visit to him 10/4/78 Sharon, Mike [Prokes], Debbie T [Touchette]
-he said that the people marching down town around the Parliament building referendum
are marching for women’s rights, it’s to build up support for the referendum on the new constitution
-he said that they kept out the issue of women’s rights so it could be used as a strategy this time
-there are also a group of people marching against the government
-we asked him about this and be said that most of the people are against the government but they are also against [Cheddi] Jagan and don’t see him as an alternative
-he is made, Wills is, because he wants to get the permission to practice officially as an attorney and first he needed some kind of paper but it got routed to Collins and Collins is holding it up/ also his pension is being held up by Collins (Wills said that if he gets back in a job he’ll watch “his flanks”
-he said that [Forbes] Burnham told him that after he (Burnham) gets back from USSR and this thing is worked out with the referendum, they’ll be a shake up and the implication (Wills thinks) is that Wills will get a position or even his old position. he said Burnham told him that it didn’t make sense to change the foreign minister with all the other upheavals and with the blackout etc.
-he said that the reason they are putting in a new constitution is to change the part of the election (as they don’t want an election as they probably wouldn’t win) so they have a referendum to OK the constitution and the constitution delays the election for some future time
-Wills is feeling badly, he feels lassitude, he is worried there won’t be follow-thru on his surgery etc.
