BB-2-yyy

Sharon Amos

Eric Clarke appt. 18/7/78 Debbie [Touchette] & Sharon

-we were told to ask him if our corp. allows us to open up any sort of business accounts in other countries or do we have to get special permission? The money would not be going from Guyana but we still want it listed as part of the corporation’s assets/ is this possible?
-he said that we have to get permission from exchange control/ no resident can maintain an account without permission of the Ministry of Finance and the corp. is a resident

regarding tax cencession status
-the Ministry of Finance still hasn’t sent a letter to him stating why they turned us down and Clarke says until they do he can’t appeal the matter
-Mr. Moore used to be the lawyer for the Commission of Income Tax with Min. of Finance and he has been persistent in trying to get it
-Debbie suggested we could go over there and ask for the letter to be written while we are there but he said if Moore can’t get it he didn’t see how we’d be more successful

-regarding transfering our house/ we have to bring in the papers of the house and it takes 5-6 weeks to transfer/ it has to be advertized for 13 days in the Gazette stating the transfer from PT to PT Association (the lease on the Jonestown property to transfer would have to go thru Parliament but he didn’t think that could be attached anyway as a lease isn’t attachable) – if you want I’ll ask him again about this

-regarding the NIS representative that Patty [Cartmell] had trouble with I asked him if he had set up the appt with the man’s boss/ he said the man had told him that when Roberts returns he’ll set up the appt but Clarek would call him again about It
-Clarke had told us last time that the man had claimed to his boss that we wouldn’t cooperate with him and that he didn’t get any questions answered and that we should just tell him we get no salaries/ he said the man had claimed we didn’t even answer that question
-I checked with Paula [Adams] on that and she told me that she and Lee [Ingram] and Patty had repeatedly told the man this and I told that to Eric and he said that makes it different as the man said otherwise

regarding [Desmond] Hoyte, he will try to set up an appt with Hoyte the first chance he has/ it’s not appropriate just now because Hoyte is setting up the constituent assembly/ he said wait till the end of the month

-regarding the license for the haberdasherie he said if we come in one of the boys in his office will take us over there to get the license (tho Joan Pursley said the store already has a license as Patty got one) (I don’t think that was communicated to us as we were told to look into a license)

-we invited Erica to come to Jonestown/ he has been having pains and has been seeing a doctor but no diagnosis yet, he is worried about it/ I told him our doctor could examine him / he said he might just come up. asked nurse if Debbie and I could be his nurses. We told him we have a very good practitioner and others nurses/ he said he might prefer to have Debbie and me (sounds like his dad)
