BB-2-hhh

[Peoples Temple letterhead]
3 August, 1978

The Hon. Minister Vibert Mingo
Minister of Home Affairs
6 Brickdam, Stabroek
Georgetown

Dear Minister Mingo,

We just thought you’d like to know that Minister Carmichael, Minister of the Northwest Region, recently praised Peoples Temple at a celebration for the referendum. He praised Peoples Temple publically for having their boat help with the run from Port Kaituma to Marbaruma because the Daemon is not functioning.

He also praised Peoples Temple for helping with the referendum. Since you often hear of some of the trials and tribulations we are having we thought we’d pass on this good news.

Also of interest is that a U.S. government official who is a black woman visited us in Jonestown for several days. She was so impressed that she made a radio broadcast of her reactions and decided to leave her three teenage children in Jonestown to live.

We will be seeing you Saturday at 12:30 for our usual appointment and thank you for everything.

Cooperatively yours,
/Sharon Amos/
