To keep you up to date not only with what is in the news about Peoples Temple but also with the American coverage of the referendum, I am sending you a couple of articles.
The first one in the S. F. Examiner is interesting because it indicates the kind of trickery that goes on to smear a socialist group, and calls a former charge against us correctly a “publicity ploy.”
The second article in the San Jose Mercury, quotes the PPP and the Conservative Party New Force claiming that the Prime Minister was trying to perpetuate himself in power with the referendum. Since this paper is printed in California, and it is in California where the campaign against Peoples Temple was mounted, one can see that actually the attack is not just on Peoples Temple but on socialism in general.
