At 8:00 a.m., 11/23/78, [deleted name], State Security, called and spoke with SA [deleted name]. Mr. [deleted name] related the following information. He read to Mr. [deleted name] from a communication (22-2301Z November, 1978) from Scott Air Force Base. Said communication stated that the California police have reported that they were currently protecting 200 cult members in the San Francisco area and are currently being requested on an hourly basis to protect additional members. This communication also contained information stating that Jim Jones (Reverend, Leader of Peoples Temple, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Jonestown, Guyana) had set aside a large amount of money to pay for the assassination of those cult members that did not commit suicide on order. Mr. [deleted name] advised SA [deleted name] of the aforementioned conversation.
