Additional information re [deleted name] believed to be identical to [deleted name].
Investigation determined that [deleted name] known to be a [line deleted] for Jones. [deleted name] has been identified as a Planning Commission member of the People’s Temple (PT). She was known to be on the elite staff of the church and to have direct knowledge of the inner activities and illegal acts of the church. [deleted name] known to have left PT in 1973 with [deleted name] and possibly [deleted name]. All believed to be in [deleted] at this time.

AUSA [Assistant US Attorney], San Francisco, based on statements of [deleted name] advised he is in the process of preparing subpoena in the name of [deleted name] to appear FGJ [federal grand jury], San Francisco, possibly on December 5, 1978. Subpoena will also be issued to include material records, etc., re PT. AUSA advised that he will consider immunity as well as use of federal witness protection program on witnesses deemed appropriate.
Dallas discreetly verify employment and attempt to ascertain residence and activities but not to take any action that would tend to alert or scare off witness.
Dallas will hold in abeyance recontact of witness until receipt of subpoena. However, if [deleted name] appears or contacts FBI, attempt full interview and make every effort to obtain cooperation of witness. Witness should be advised of availability of both immunity and protection under consideration by AUSA.
