FBI Section 88 • G-2 •
Communist Contacts, Korea, Cuba

FBI Section 88 was divided into two sections with the “G” designation and both labelled in the Guyana Index as “Communist Contacts.” This, the second of the two sections, is further designated “Korea, Cuba” and consists of 56 pages.

The listing below is complete for this section of the FBI’s FOIA release. The complete PDF for this section as released by the FBI is here.

As differentiated from many sections on this site, the documents on each of the pages below have been arranged in chronological order. Several pages from this section comprise notes of meetings between Temple members and officials of the Soviet Embassy, which have been organized into a separate page.

The citation for these documents should open with the FBI’s official designation of these records, which is “RYMUR 89-4286.” Each individual page in these records has a unique number. Page 11 of this document, for example, is marked “G-2-a-4a”. The complete citation for that page, then, would be “RYMUR 89-4286-G-2-a-4a”.

It should also be noted that the FBI release includes additional documents concerning the Temple’s relationship with the Soviet Union and other Communist countries, including at the first section, G-1 and at Section 139 GG-1 – GG-3.
