On March 4, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B62 #18. This tape was found to contain the following:
Side A: JIM JONES in a discussion with two unidentified women and an unidentified man.
Side B: One telephone call between unidentified persons. JIM JONES in a discussion with unidentified women.
This tape was reviewed, and nothing was contained thereon which was considered to be of evidentiary nature or beneficial to the investigation of Congressman RYAN.

Side One – A statement by HARRIET TROPP (phonetic) with a reference to Mr. GARRY’s office. This statement discussed concerned relatives and citizens hiring mercenaries to enter Guyana. TROPP asserts that armed agents entered Guyana and attempted, unsuccessfully, to assassinate JIM JONES and others. TROPP mentions a forthcoming trip of a group of relatives from the United States to Guyana within three to four weeks of this transmission, which is an international phone patch.
TROPP states that their ultimate commitment is that they (the members of the People’s Temple) will not submit quietly to interminable plotting and persecution by the politically motivated conspiracy and they will resist, actively, putting their lives on the line.
TROPP then introduced members of People’s Temple who made various statements to their respective family members in the United States. Each statement expressed a desire to be left alone and to allow them to remain in Guyana without harassment. Background sounds indicate much coaching in these statements by Ms. TROPP and a male voice which may be JIM JONES. These speakers included MARK WAGNER, age 16, MARIA KATSARIS, age 24, WESLEY BRIEDENBACH, age 18, and LEANN HARRIS, age 21.
Side Two – Statements similar to those on Side One, including the coaching. The speakers include LEANN HARRIS, BILLY OLIVER, CHRIS ROSINKO, MARY GRIFFITH, CAROL KERNS, age 19, BOB DAVIS, MARCY SIMON, BARBARA SIMON, CASSANDRA MINOR, age 21, CHRISTINE YOUNG and MARCELINE JONES, wife of JIM JONES. Mrs. JONES stated she would sue the San Francisco press on her return to San Francisco for defamation of character against JIM JONES and the conspiracy against him.

On March 28, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B62-101. This tape was found to contain the following:
Side 1 includes a female voice announcing that DONNY CASANOVA should come to the radio room.
Side 2 includes a female voice requesting LEE INGRAM to come to the radio room.
Side 1 also includes a male voice reading the noon news from Guyana. The text is anti-United States and pro-Soviet and pro-Socialist in its tenor. At the end of the news, the male announces that because of the water shortage, a bucket brigade will form in the garden at 3:30; that there will be a rally that night to discuss production levels; and that names of persons wasting water will be taken and the persons would be “brought up for learning.”
Both sides of the tape include a muffled monologue in which the language is undecipherable.

Side 1 includes a conversation by at least three males regarding some campaign. Reference is made to the “mayor” and to assistance to be given by members of the People’s Temple. At one point, one voice says he does not want to give BARBEGELATA something he can be firing at him. Discussion includes possible appointment of People’s Temple people to the Human Rights Commission, the Redevelopment Commission, and the Police Commission of San Francisco. Names of people, including CHARLIE BROWN, JUDY CLOWARD, DIANE WOODS, RHONDA CRAWFORD, LOU DAVIS, and CAROLUN LOOMAN are mentioned, however, their status is not clear.
Side 2 of the tape is a continuation of the conversation plus a recording of a television news broadcast of News Scene with VAN AMBURG, JERRY JENSEN, and PETER CLEVELAND, who interviews MARIE DUNCAN or DUCKETT, a reformed narcotics addict and People’s Temple member, and Reverend JIM JONES of the People’s Temple.
This tape was reviewed and nothing was contained thereon which was considered to be of evidentiary nature or beneficial to the investigation of Congressman RYAN.

Daughter, whose name may be MARIE, is 24 years old and she sends greetings to ELAINE, ANTHONY, and JACK, who may be sister and brothers.

JIM JONES is cutting a tape for the Guyanese Foreign Minister. He is communicating with him because of rumors that comrades “Carmichael” and “Lambert” are attempting to discredit them. He says the only thing he has done is father a child with TIM STOEN’s wife and that the potential for court action in this matter is the reason they are staying in Guyana. He tells him that the people have voted to die rather than return to the U.S.
