The 45 documents in this section have been organized into five categories:

• Family letters to Temple members
• Temple members’ letters to family
• Letters between members of Peoples Temple
• Non-personal memos and notes
• Other

Many of the letters from people not associated with the Temple – especially those in the first section – are not relevant to the group’s history and were therefore not transcribed.

There is only one EE-5 document – the notes from Rita Tupper to Jim Jones – with the remainder being designated as EE4.

The citation for these documents should open with the FBI’s official designation of these records, which is “RYMUR 89-4286.” Each individual page in these records has a unique number. Page 128 of this document, for example, is marked “EE-4-AAB”. The complete citation for that page, then, would be “RYMUR 89-4286- EE-4-AAB”.
